Toys R Us Times Square

Minty and friends are sad to report that the Toys R US store in Times Square has been closed. Not that the Toys R Us company is in trouble or anything, just that the location was probably too expensive or the rent was raised or whatever. Other blogs can debate WHY the store closed but I'll cheerily say it was a highlight of anypony's trip to New York City. We visited the store about a week before Xmas so of course we were going to take a bunch of pictures! Hope you enjoy them and fondly remember that awesome store!

The store was so busy and packed with people that it took a long time and a lot of luck to get a picture of this spot without anypony walking on it. I wonder where the NEW center of the toy universe will be?

Click on the "Read more" below, there are lots more pictures!

The outside of the building always had giant adds for toys, it was great. Check out the giant Skylanders!

This place was absolutely huge. Tall ceilings filled with neat thinks.

Haha packed store, lots of people "photobombing" these pictures!

Life-size Barbie House!

Giant Playmobil figures!

The Lego section had iconic New York buildings built from um, Lego bricks.

Yo King Kong! You better get down from there before they close the store!

This T-Rex moved around and roared and stuff. I wonder where it will wander off to?

Call of Duty Mega Bloks display. Where's my NoobTube?

Can Spidey save the store? Okay I guess he's got REAL crime to fight.

One more picture of the T-Rex. Looks like he's smiling but I bet he's still sad.

Candy King welcoming you into the candy section. He sucks. On candy!

The 4th floor was an arcade but it's already been closed and just boxes up there...

Giant Skylander statue! It might be hard to get this guy home to put on your portal.

Did I mention the Ferris Wheel INSIDE the store?

Look at all three stories and start to get an idea of how large of a store this was.

Kaos screams "How DARE you close the BEST STORE EVER!!!!!"

Giant Hot Wheels cars were here, too.

Lots of New York souvenirs were sold here. This Unicorn will help you remember you LUV NYC!

One last picture of the exit thanking you for visiting. Well, thank YOU for being such an awesome store we will miss you!
