Toys R Us sneaks back into Times Square

During our recent trip into New York City, after we did a quick stop-in to The Gap that had taken "the spot" from the previous giant Toys R Us store, we walked a little ways... and just on the edge of Times Square we see..... a Toys R Us? We took these pictures and got all excited before well, before... the "Toys R Us boat started to sink." 

The entrance almost looks like it's disguised as a subway entrance, with the colored circles. From the outside it looks kind of tiny, but we had to stop in to check it out! It's so sad that just as they came back, they will have to leave again. Maybe they will have another kind of Toy Store here?

Toy Fair 2018 Super Pics

I wasn't sooo lazy this year about grouping together photos from the New York Toy Fair; here's the Super Hero group!

Who needs big blockbuster movies when you get TV shows as good as The Flash and Supergirl? And you don't need to spend $10 a ticket to see them every week! Did we just figure out that TV is way better than movies?

Toy Fair 2018 part 4

More toys from the New York Toy Fair!

One of the fun highlights we saw were these dice. Obviously big and plastic, they still rolled like dice. But if you didn't like what you got, you could clap your hands, yes like The Clapper, and they would buzz-buzz hop around and re-roll themselves. They even lit up different colors, and you could roll them with an app on your phone!

One of the best things about the Toy Fair is checking out all the fresh "art" that may or may not make it to a store near you. These critters from Roooz Planet are oddly creative. Kids love this kind of craziness, right?

Toy Fair 2018 Wandering part 1

The Sauce!

I'm interrupting the Toy Fair posts for a McNugget Sauce? It's a fun story that deserves some telling and I got a bunch of pictures to match.

You may not think this is a big deal, but it sort-of is. Szechaun Sauce was made for the Disney movie Mulan in 1998. Only available for a few months and then never to be seen again.
