Hot Dog Memories

The closing of a fast-food restaurant usually isn't very news-worthy, but this is the type that gets an exception. The Nathan's Famous Hot Dog location in Yonkers NY was closing. From what I've heard, it had been there since 1965 and was their 3rd store, so it's got a fair amount of history. The reason it kinda hits me personally is because this is where we took the first "Minty Picture" (sniff sniff)

This is the huge sign out by the street. During this farewell weekend the place was packed. There were a lot of nostalgic people taking pictures, us included. Click on the "Read More" for lots more pictures.

Here's a view of the tasty meal. Similar to my first Minty Pic. We only ordered 1 hot dog but they gave us 2. That's classy.

It's hard to get a sense of the size with just photos, but this place was pretty big. Kinda like a food court in a mall.

There was a arcade game room in the back AND in the front of the restaurant. This is the one in the back. I wonder if we have any tickets left?

This Mario Brothers pinball game was in the front arcade. A rare treasure of a machine. Ironically you give this thing coins instead of collecting them haha.

One last quarter for the claw machine and by luck we grabbed a new friend! We named this cutie Natalie Hot Dog since that was the closest girl-version of Nathan we could think up.

Here's me and Natalie enjoying the Snoopy ride. Did we feel silly taking this picture? Nope :)

There were painted Murals on the walls in the front. Who are these characters? Crazy "N" Rabbit must have been a mascot or something?

Even celebrities came for the farewell? We did not see him in the store, but apparently we got a 3DS streetpass from Brock, Pokemon's Gym Leader/travelling buddy/ladie's man wannabe.
