One More Fun Adventure With Hot Dogs

Luckily we were in town for auction day so of course were had to check it out. We took tons of pictures, click on the "Read More" to see some cool stuff!

The Mario Pinball machine from the previous post went for $900. Ski Ball here went for $525. We wanted to bid on it but didn't really have any place to put it in our tiny apartment. Who wouldn't want ski ball at home? ...sigh... It would have been fun..

One of the neat things about auctions of this type is that you can wander around the entire building, so places that customers usually can't go are fun to explore! Here's the kitchen, I wonder how many hot dogs were made here over the past 47 years?

Can I take your order? A look at the inside of the drive thru window.

Do you think they would have thought about taking these signs down before the auction? Are they going to send robots from the future to "terminate" you for sleeping in?

The walk-in freezer! It was cold in there (um, duh?) but after we were in there for about 30 seconds we started to panic, don't lock us in!

No kidding, there was a "dungeon" under the restaurant. Or at least it LOOKED a lot like a dungeon. Very creepy.

Here's a hidden picture of the classic original Nathan's Famous stand at Coney Island. Nothing in the dungeon was going in the auction but I'm sure this would have been worth "something?"

This mess of tubes is for the soda fountains? As dirty as the rest of "the dungeon" was, this part looked very clean (thankfully!) Can you find me in this picture lol?

This door was rusted shut. We tugged at it for a bit, but then realized we might not like what was on the other side, so we let it be. Besides, sometimes it's fun to have a mystery. Now we can imagine all sorts of cool stuff that might have been on the other side, instead of a simple mop closet that we might have found.

Nathan's Famous was nice enough to send a food truck to sell Hot Dogs during the auction. Also an excuse to photo this Star Trek fan's car?
