Statue of Liberty part 1

We had a friend visiting on vacation, and he got us tickets to go see the Statue of Liberty! So we took lots of pictures of this historic symbol of freedom.

Here's the view from the ferry boat! The nearby Ellis Island greeted immigrants from all over the world into America, we got lots of pictures over there, too. Click on the "Read more" already!

The audio tour is included with your ticket so just grab one and learn all sorts of cool stuff.

This was the main area where all the new arrivals got interviewed and stuff. The audio tour had all kinds of neat facts about this room. The ceiling was so well constructed they only had to replace like 18 tiles during the recent renovation.

An actual bench immigrants sat on! Welcome to America everypony!

Jumping ahead a bit to the museum in the pedestal of the statue, this is a display of what the pedestal of the statue looks like. I jumped over here to grab a picture and half expected security to haul us away! What was I thinking!? Anyway, we HAD to post the picture!

Check out the size of these bolts! I'm in this picture really tiny, see me?

Again in the museum I jump on a priceless artifact! It's a bit blurry because we were rushing but this must be the wrench for those giant bolts!
