Clear Sky Rainy Puddle

Double-up on the hobbies of bike riding and picture taking. We get to share them both!

The weather was being rather undecided this day. Half the sky was clear and the other was grey and rainy. You can see the rain drops in this puddle that is also reflecting a blue sky.

Pick a side of the sky? Which way was the wind blowing? Should we even be out today?

Those ducks didn't seem to mind the rain but what else are they going to do? It started coming down a little more right now so we turned around and rushed home. It was okay because it turned out this was the day we discovered the flat tire so it's good we were not further away.

Fixed the flat tire and out again to test it. This deer was not moving, seriously. We stared at it for a few minutes and had fun imagining the Conan O'Brien staring contest skits, then laughed and gave up. The deer won.

We went down a different road and crossed over Route 1 a bit north of where we usually go. Found a new shopping promenade and a Ruth's Chris Steakhouse so now we know where to go when we win the lottery.

Check out this giant fountain! Next to the Ruth's Chris Steakhouse, this must be a "rich people" place?

Anypony else appreciate a good potted plant bouquet? I bet these are expensive types of flowers.

Some kind of learning center with a giant Charmander wearing a lab coat. It's bigger that a "real-sized" charmander would be, but cute and fun to see anyway.

Next to the shopping center was a giant hotel with this awesome geyser fountain. The type little kids run through but it did not look very safe for that. The poor kids would be tossed into the air.

We briefly thought about driving the bike through, as sort of a washing. That's exactly the kind of silly thing you'd do if your friends were here but all by yourself it seemed rather... silly? Maybe next time if it's a hotter day.

Sun behind the fountain was giving an odd shadow-water effect. Without the context, could you tell what was going on here?

Haha! The hotel had these things on the lawn to scare away real critters. Is it Halloween already? Or did somepony forget to take these down from last year?

Road Closed? That sounds like "bike over there to check it out!"

Not much of a "road" back here. Who would think this goes anywhere? Now I'm curious where it goes! Well not enough to actually follow this gravel path.

We were plenty far away from our apartment and saw this sign for our tiny town. I guess it's bigger than we thought.

At this point we were a little lost. We found a history plaque and figured we could get to the D&R Canal park to get back home. No time to read the plaque, but that's what pictures are for.

Ah-ha! Found the Canal trail. This way south to get back home.

We were across the river, on the other side from were we usually go. stumbled across this shrine that we saw before. Just now I thought we probably could have snuck one of our Bike Druid figures up there, but at the time there was somepony taking pictures with a super-camera. And really leaving a Druid up there would be kinda wrong, right?

We are usually over... there. On that side. The sun was getting low but nothing to panic about yet.

Hmm... the trail turned into this super thin line. We were getting a little worried this was not still a trail.

Well. A couple of fallen trees and what looked like regular forest beyond. Might have kept going on foot but the bicycle was not going to make it through. Forced to turn around.

The trail north looked a lot more like we were supposed to go this way. But it's opposite the way we need to go home.

It's hard to tell from this picture, but this wide tree on the edge of the swamp looked a lot like Yoda's house. It wouldn't surprise me to find out they filmed the Dagobah scenes in New Jersey lol.

Cute overgrown bench in the middle of nowhere. If you're tired, it sure beats sitting on the ground.

We didn't notice this from the other side of the river, but there's a cool row of trees here. Like a computer role playing game that block the path. Wait, am I in a game now?

Found a river on the other side of the spillway thing. That might look like crystal clear water but I bet it's still full of nasty stuff.

The trail ended and we wound up diverted through some neighborhoods. Keeping in mind which way we needed to go, we finally wound up next to this Post Office which was on a main road we thought we recognized. We were able to get to the canal path we always use and made it home just fine.
