Count on Minty!

Well, not much going on around here. Staying home all the time is not boring, but it does limit the picture taking opportunities. I do have a few pictures I can share.

Forgetting about the logistics of collecting the census data these days, we saw this commercial for the US Census featuring The Count from Sesame Street. And we had a laugh imagining what that must be like for him. Counting every---single---person---in---America?! That's got to be his total dream job! He goes door-to-door and AH AH AH! with every person he counted!

This commercial upset my friend who is always just a little upset, for no reason, that fast food commercials typically display the sandwiches larger than they actually are. It "looks" real enough, but that's actually a doll hand holding this cone. Okay "technically" it's not larger, it's just a misleadingly-smaller doll hand holding it. Shame on them! Somebody should point this out!?

Nothing bad to say about this Taco Bell Triplelupa. It's pretty good if you can get yourself to a Taco Bell these days. Be warned, it's going to get sloppy. But it's worth it.

This was the last Shamrock Shake we had, so this picture was taken at the end of March. I think I was going to point out we had to go through the drive-thru to get one, but we are all used to that by now, right?

If you look up into that tree, you can see a squirrel trying to escape... the treats? He was knocking acorns down on us. After a minute trying, we realized it must have seemed silly trying to reason a squirrel into getting some treats, and just let him be.

It's been a while since we've done cheese nuggets, we re-discovered it while random leftover ingredients converged. How many people are stuck at home combining bits of food in their isolation?

Oh! An exciting story! Well, okay, we do get excited about silly things. looking in the yard for squirrel pals, we notice... is that tree taking a nap?

Oh Snap! Nothing gets any luck up on this hill. The bushes crashed in that snowstorm, the telephone pole caught fire, and now this tree just had it, too! Look back at the last picture... that's the phone pole that blew up recently, nearly hit again by this tree!

You can see our apartment over there, it's not super close to where this tree fell, but it's aimed right at us. Actually everybody lucked out with this position. It could have fallen in much worse directions.

Here's your Where's Waldo picture... see if you can spot the squirrel. He's gotta be wondering why his home is sideways. He was so worked-up, he was not having any treats at all. Hopefully he found the few we left for him.

Next morning, buzz-buzz noises alerted us to the clearing of the mess. Honestly, the buzzing was a lot quieter than expected. Is that some new tech?

We kind of wanted to take one of these leftover stumps to make like, a table of sorts for our back porch. But that's silly, right? It would have been close enough to see, and they probably would have taken it away later anyway.

They had to cut away some of these branches from this other tree where it fell on to. I keep wondering if they are going to plant anything new up on this hill, but maybe that's for the best if they don't.

Here's the stump. Are there tree detectives to investigate why it fell? Looked like it had something going on in the middle there. Check the nearby trees for clues.
