Birds and Stuff

Nature! Pics gathered while out riding our bike. A lot different than the normal pop-culture pictures we get while out shopping, but I have fun things to comment on nature, too.

Maybe not the best picture to start out with. See the bird over there? It looked at us like... "What?!" So we got it's picture. That's what, bird.

D'oh! Don't they have Park Rangers to clear this kind of thing? Slackers! That tree doesn't look too big, maybe I can step up and drag it out of the way?

Um..... Nope. That tree was a lot heavier than it looked. I felt a little like an idiot for trying, but there was nobody around to see it, so it's all good.

As many times as I have been through Princeton, it still amazes me how cool it looks. It feels like a theme park, but it's a real place. Does that sound strange to say?

Whoops! This part is under renovation. It will go back to looking like a theme park when they are done with it.

I'm certain I've gotten a picture of this arch before, but it's cool to share another one, right? There's cool stuff in every direction around the Princeton campus.

Hahaha. Ancient, medieval-looking door. Modern window air conditioning unit right next to it. When this place was built, they didn't have air conditioning, of course.

These crazy Chinese Zodiac heads are still stuck in a corner near the train stop. Stuck. Get it?

If these didn't look like barbaric trophies stuck on spears, this one might be used by the G.I.Joe enemy Cobra in their base. The troops would walk by and scream "COBRA!!!"

What? This is a sundial, right? Why is it in the shade? The sun is clearly coming from the other direction. These students not learning sundials properly? Isn't that like, ancient tech?

I've taken pictures of this fountain area before. Check out the cool rainbow seen in the mist around the sculpture thing. My friend always feels like stepping in there, to get his shoes all wet, to cool off on hot summer days. But he's never actually done it. Nobody really likes wet feet.

It's quite common to see people taking glamour pics around this beautiful area. That was a sparkly dress. You can't see all the sparkles in this picture.

This road wad blocked by construction for a long time, and now it's finally open! Let's check out the new path!

Super-new buildings! Are those real bricks, or like, pre-done factory bricks?

Ah, poor tree. It probably watched a lot of football games, being right next to the stadium.

Live Fast? Um... I think we're doing the opposite of that. Enjoying a nice relaxing bike ride, not going fast at all.

Hey! It's that bird again. It's frozen like it's certain we can't see it unless it moves. Do I look like a T-Rex?

Is it still graffiti if it's a nice message?

Lego flowers in this office building window. Neat.

I thought it might be cool to get a picture of the bike we ride around on. My friend has had this bike for a long time. All things considered, we could probably use a new one, but it still works fine. We're here at the Princeton football stadium.

Metal tigers outside the stadium. That railing edge in front of them is part of the new construction road. That used to be a plain grass hill.

We always found it fun to ride, slowly, through this metal sculpture. Due to the metal walls, it's a little colder inside there, on a hot summer day.

Did somebody run into this thing? What would bust a giant metal wall? Glad they are bothering to fix it, though.

More construction. Check out that giant garbage tube. Must make a loud bang when they toss stuff down it.

Random oars and life jacket on the bridge. They rent kayaks down the river, but there was none anywhere around here right now. A mystery?

Congrats to whoever put this graffiti tag on this bridge. It's been here for over a decade. As long as we've been here. Does the city even care? Is this some kind of city landmark I don't know about?

I've always liked the little clear pond over top of grass after a rain storm. Seeing the clean grass underneath is that special kind of unusual thing that you see every once in a while.

Watching that algae swirl was like a real-life screen saver. I could have watched it all day! Haha, not really, but it was still fun for a hot minute.

Bridge out? That's a shortcut type of road we use a lot. Since we are on a bicycle, we can go check it out.

We can squeeze through there and get closer! This is where we'd get stopped if we had driven the car in this direction.

I might have been able to go on the grass around this spot, but it's clearly a construction area past this wall, so it's probably not safe. Guess we won't be going in this direction for a while. This bridge was famous for having quite a shelf on it, you had to slow down a lot or else your tires would BANG! when you hit the part of the road on the bridge.

There's a house with a crazy sculpture on the lawn over here. Is that some kind of bent ladder? It's art!

This school has a crazy obstacle tower over in this field. I bet the kids love this kind of thing. Or hate it. One or the other.

The sky seemed kinda "big" over in this direction. Look at all those fluffy clouds!

There's a lot of blank area on those championship plaques. Whoever got them was thinking they didn't want to bother getting new ones for a long long long time!

Neat school graphic on that fence. Worth a picture, right?

Behind the school was a massive field full of sports areas. I'm not sure this picture gets the scope of it all. That's a lot of lawn to mow!
