Old Toys part 2

Continuing our blast-from-the-past walking around the Antique Mall in Virginia Beach!

Artoo! And various R2 buddies. There's something magically cool about that droid design, with all the color variants they all still feel like they'd be loyal companions for your adventures.

May the Pictures be with you! Click on the "Read more" below!

There's the crown jewel of every 80's kid's toy box. The Millennium Falcon. It may not look like much, but she's got it where it counts.

Does 200X count as "old?" Well, it's still impossible to find these older Lego Star Wars sets so it's good to see them here.

Vintage Star Wars figures! Tons of them! Out of the packages, I'm sure these have been on plenty of adventures.

G.I.Joes! And um, Cobra figures, too. Check out Scrap-Iron even has his rocket launcher! But it's not supposed to be red? Google-up his file card and get an irony laugh, he doesn't like imperfection.

Old G.I.Joes in the packages! Just like they would have been in a store in the 1980's! Of course they are a little more than $2.50 now.

A quick look down stairs at all of the "normal" antiques. We were still up in the clouds here having a great time remembering all of the fun toys.

Cabinets and shelves FULL of Star Wars merchandise! We wonder how many of these secret shopping spots exist?

Piles of vintage Star Wars trading cards are cool enough, but my friend found it very funny that there was a pile of Star TREK cards hidden here in the middle of the top row.

Speaking of Star Trek, they also had a bunch of figures. Which were here, too!

Guinan the Enterprise-D bartender. She was already pretty famous when she did this role, but it's still cool to have figures of celebrity cameos.

My friend remembers having that space ship, and it being cool, but couldn't remember the specifics. We were going to look it up later.

"Oh, wow." Says my friend when he saw these old Dungeons and Dragons figures. He had a lot of these and they were especially cool.

Hey it's the muppet character from Farscape! Not too old but still fun to see that guy here.

Here's a cabinet of single-Lego figures. Sometimes if you only want just the figure it's better to pay like $12 for it rather than buy a whole $80 set you don't want. There were a lot of "fake" Lego figures, here too.

Predaking! A combonation of all five Predacons. This was a highlight of the 80's Transformers toy era. ALL of these figures were like, the best.

Omega Supreme was an odd Transformer that was a missile base/track/tank that you had to disassemble and re-assemble into the robot mode. That Robot does look cool, though.

Cabinets upon cabinets of Transformers! Sorted by color. My friend's favorite Hound was not here, but maybe your favorite is?

Oh, yeah. There were comics here, too. We actually got a good show out of the one guy flipping through the bins constantly talking to some other guy about hero details. He just was talking non-stop it was borderline annoying but fun background noise.

Sorry guys for the blurry picture, trying to show off some of the Warcraft, um, character designs.

Masters of the Universe! Right next to my head you can see a Slime Pit playset I guess the slime that came with it in the 80's did not survive the years. Probably in a carpet somewhere?

M.A.S.K.! Another classic toy line. The gimic was like the motorcycle turns into a helicopter, or the truck has a lot of pop-out weapons. And the drivers all had cool helmets, er... masks.

There was an excited girl who saw this Kagome and was telling her friend about it. My friend said she was not saying the name right. When they asked what we meant, my friend yelled out a very accurate "KA-GO-ME!" And everybody laughed. If you've seen the show InuYasha, you'd know the bit.

Atari games! It's a little more common to see those at other stores, but they've got them here, too.

The comics and books on this rack were very recent, but we saw a favorite 80's McDonald's Christmas Kermit down there! Can we get an autograph?
