Last of the Toy Fair 2020 pictures

This is the last bunch of pictures we got at the 2020 New York Toy Fair. I know I've been spreading these posts over several weeks, so it might be a little strange to see pictures from a big-attended event like this right now. It's only been a few weeks? Anyway, enjoy this small distraction. And if you want more, remember I've got years-worth's of posts to check back on!

I wonder if there are any 75-year-olds still playing with toys. Minty is not nearly that old yet. The Mattel booth is located on it's own separate floor, and there's a club-like bouncer turning you away right at the escalator. It's giving off the wrong vibes, are they aware of that?

Well take THAT Mattel! Schleich has been around 10 years longer, and they are freely showing off their stuff right in the main lobby! You wouldn't even need a badge to check this out.

That Robocop movie is most certainly NOT FOR KIDS and to prove the point is this Toxic Waste Thug, I guess his name was Emil Antonowsky. I'm not going to describe the scene, but it was perhaps the worst thing ever. This figure has got to be like, a joke, because if somebody saw it, they'd think you had a messed-up childhood.

Classic Thundercats! We've not yet seen the new Thundercats Roar series, but the art style is... noticeably different than the classic series. We gotta look up that robot pirate; looking at him, we remember him being cool, and they did make a figure so he must have been cool, right?

I'd be curious to take that He-Man candy basket around on Halloween and ask everybody if they recognize who this is. I'm sure I'd be pleasantly surprised to find out that almost everybody would recognize classic He-Man, but it would be funny to hear the wrong guesses.

There was a strange empty booth with a printed bookshelf wall and some old chairs. And a "velvet rope" that turned you away from relaxing here. Well, you see some strange stuff at the Toy Fair.

What's the point in having a Wonder Woman autograph without actually meeting her to get it? Is that the point of an autograph? To have a record of meeting someone? Like, before selfies, we had autographs.

This wall of glowing and blinking things was mesmerizing. Like some kind of funky toy dance club going on over here.

One booth was giving away Bernie Sanders promos! It was funny to see them taking advantage of the people-traffic. I wonder what his position is on... the Toy Industry?

American Ninja Warrior backyard kits! Where's my Salmon Ladder? Always wanted to try that.

You might not remember what the ANW buzzer sounded like, but when you hit it, you remember. Yeah! That's what it sounds like! This buzzer sound is so much associated with accomplishment on the show, that it instantly gives you a happy boost to hear it.

I asked which of these guys was the World Champion, and they confessed he was not there. I would have believed them if they lied. Check out that other guy lounging there, demonstrating the bad habit of rubbing his eye. That's a little funny-not-funny to see these days.

We figured out this was a Garbage Pail Kid named Adam Bomb, with the classic head-explosion. They were taking way too long to assemble this costume, so we did not get a picture of the finished thing.

The usually-empty stage in the back was being set up with... dominoes? Oh it was probably an epic... event. Is there a term for domino-setup-knockdown-thing?

H.A.C.K.S. stands for Highly Articulated Character Kit System, and the idea is like a big-complicated-pose-able customizable figure. Think of it like Lego mixed with just cool big figures. They had a pony so I had to get a picture of it. The mane and other pieces are swap-able and there's accessories, too.

Make the tag! The sign said "do not touch", but they caught us getting this picture and told us it would be okay to put Minty in the ring. I tried to get a pose of Minty holding the folding chair, but the corner picture looked better.

Yikes. Did this thing look creepy. It's one of those reality vs fantasy moments where somebody thought this would be cool, but in reality it's just a ton of creepy.

Not too sure The Concoction Factory is an appealing name. There was a bubbling cauldron of goo, not very appealing either. Looks like the sample shelves were almost empty, so somebody thought it was goo-d.

Off to the side was Toy of the Year awards. Was this always over here? I think I remember seeing this before, but I'm going to make a note to check from now on. Also, this is in the lobby, so come check it out if you want, you don't need a badge to see this.

I didn't feel like I needed to take pictures of all of the various categories, but it was neat to see the "Creative Toy of the Year" went to the Galaxy's Edge Droid Depot Astromech. Since we got one of those last year when we visited the planet Batuu. Also funny to notice the "Collectible Toy of the Year" went to L.O.L. Surprise Winter Disco Series, so sorry to all you other "Toy Collectors" who were hoping to validate your POP Figure collections or whatever.

Here's a mini Godzilla statue. See what I did there? Because a 7-foot tall Godzilla is like, super-mini compared to the real Godzilla.

Speaking of mini, these gigantic little green army men were unexpectedly awesome. Look how small I look next to this thing!

Speaking of giant things, the K'nex displays were awesome as they always are. Really inspirational. Makes me want to buy a ton and build something huge.

Minty sat on this trashcan for a while, as the attendants ensured us that the peeking robot was on a timer. I'm not so sure. This was the Hex Bug booth, in previous years they had the Battle Bots champion on display. But sure... Junk Bots is cool, too.

The other side of the Playmobil booth has another sideways display. Because who else plays with their toys glued to a wall? It's not nearly as cool of a thing to point out anymore, but there's an Elvis sighting on that stage up there.

Looks like everybody was getting ready to leave for the night. Iron Man volunteered to hold this guy's scarf. What a hero!

Those girls were rockin' those stilts like pros. They were twirling little flag things around, it's hard to see in this picture. I remember seeing that person-in-the-slinkie-loop walking around last year. Another fun year at the Toy Fair!
