Unexplored Paths

Going out for bike rides is about all the non-shopping adventure we can do right now. This group of pictures is from previously un-explored routes,  so what's new to share?

The office complex we chose to explore was indeed massive. Here's a connecting trail that looked a little worn. Nah, we won't get lost. I'm not being coy, we didn't actually get lost.

Where are we? There's a park over there? We had a general idea about where we were in relation to the main roads but in the middle was just a big mystery. And that includes this odd park.

Hold up... what is THAT in the tree? That's not some kind of hornet nest, is it? Is that part of the tree or something else?

We dared to get closer and still don't know what kind of growth this could be. Not that we know a lot about trees anyway. I want to say this is super gross, but it's just a tree, can that be gross?

This was totally creature-cocoon sized. Like some kind of forest monster would eventually hatch from it. If I'm the first thing it sees, could I claim to be it's mommy? You make sure to get plenty of sunlight, okay?

This fallen tree mess had a hollow trunk. Curious to peek at what could be inside, but it was too much of a mess to go climbing all over there. Plus it was probably just some basketballs. That's what I'd try for... swoosh!

Another cobbled walk path between parking lots teasing me about getting lost. Does anybody really use these?

That floating office hanging off the side of this building looked pretty boss. You know that's where the guy in charge is.

There was another deer just standing there and by the time we slowly got the camera ready, it hopped away. You can see the hopping tail.

Found some tennis courts tucked away back here, and people were there playing. If you zoom in, you can see a stray tennis ball that was hit over the fence. Normally we would have gone over and tossed it back, but due to the whole Covid-19 thing, we just let it be.

Here's a nice rain puddle forest picture we got right before the clouds came in and took away the sunshine. When we took this picture it looked very pretty, but looking at it now, it's a little busy.

We took a picture of this trail a week ago, it had "overlay" written on it, and we wondered what was underneath. looka like they overlayed new pavement on this part. So it wasn't a clue, it was instructions.

This caught our attention and we don't remember seeing it before. Have we? Maybe we have. Is there an easy way to check all of our photos? Ain't nopony got time for that. Anyway, wonder what it's marking?

There was another biker right in front of us, so we thought we'd explore this hotel for a minute to give him some space. Helicopter pad is still here. Yeah this is the ritzy hotel with a helicopter pad.

Circling the peremiter, we found a forest trail and impulsively ventured down it. Here's some stacked wood? What? Who did this, why?

This is not the most bicycle-friendly terrain, and we've already explored new stuff today, but sure, let's keep going!

Oh wow, this creek is cool looking. Glad we saw this.

The other side of the trail led to behind the ritzy hotel, which apparently connects to another office complex with this massive indoor bridge over the river! That's soooo fancy!

Seriously we could not get a picture that illustrated how impressive this was. I wonder how normally busy this place is? During the lockdown-times it's super quiet back here.

 Huge lake: check. Gazeebo: check.

It's a shame this fountain was not running, because it looked like it would have been awesome. Is there anybody to ask if they could turn it on for a minute so we can get a good picture? Can we do that?

This looked like some kind of secret druid ceremony spot, with the stone stairs in the ground like that. Where did we wander off to?

On the way back, we saw this shortcut bridge but decided it looked too old and rickety to risk using it. Back down the bumpy trail we went.
