Collectibles

Still have some more pictures from our trip down to Virginia. I guess it's obvious by now that we have a hobby to hunt for collectible treasures, and we know of a few places we like to check whenever we get down to the home town. We might not find anything to buy, but surely we can get some pictures of fun stuff.

There was a new place we were told about called Yester Toys near the Sam's Club on "The Blvd". It was small but jam-packed with fun things to see, like this 2008 Futurama Robot Santa set. Due to a flaw in his programming, he judges everybody to be naughty. Your mistletoe is no match for his T.O.W. missile!

I want to say "Lego knock-off" but since technically Mega Construx has done several legit Hasbro-property brick sets, these are some rip-off sets for them, of G.I. Joe. It's the very type of thing Cobra would have done themselves! Mwaa-ha-ha!

A friend remarked that this Fortress Maximus figure they had as children... looked rather tiny. Is this an example of The Mandela Effect? Because that robot transforms into A CITY. And they remember it being absolutely HUGE. But here it was, clearly a lot smaller than they remembered.

My friend did not realize there was a 2nd Trilogy store very close to the Fuddruckers. Granted, the Fuddruckers location is relatively "new" and he never really had a reason to come out that way before, but still feels like he should have know about this place.

Zoiks! Scooby Doo and Batman comics! That's not The Scarecrow, it's Simon Shakey looking for the secret chicken feed formula! That's what Google said when we typed in "Scooby Doo Scarecrow"

As a fan of both RWBY and Justice League, I was shocked to see them... together in a comic series? Oddly enough our friend knew about these and was specifically hoping to find them. If you are looking for them, be aware there's also cover variants!

Skip the pictures right over to the "real" Trilogy store. There's enough My Little Pony comics to need a whole themed bin to collect them in. If you didn't know, you can now get these cardboard comic book bins with pictures on them.

Love Live character Kanan is normally a dive instructor, so seeing a figure of her in this wetsuit is fine, and not pandering fan service. She also sings in the School Idol Club. And yes that price tag says $250! She's cute, but is she THAT cute?

I edited this picture for content, but it was not edited in the store. I'm a grown-up, but still a little shocking to see some lewd comic book in a store. Is this any different than naked statues in a museum? Y'know... "Art" and all?

Lady Jaye is a G.I. Joe covert agent who's normally wearing a green jump suit, but this yellow one with the red cap is based off of a toy variant produced in a Complan Commando promotion for the Complan Chocolate Health Drink in India, and was called Canary Ann. Wow, that is a very obscure reference!

Speaking of obscure references, I've seen a bunch of episodes of the original Lost in Space series, and not once have I heard the name "B-9". They always just say "The Robot", or simply "Robot". Dr Smith yelled at it but deep down you could tell they were good friends.

Model ships from Star Trek Online. A little eye-rolling for the USS Shran named after the character from the series Star Trek: Enterprise. I guess that's cool, but have they ever named a ship USS Spock or USS Picard? Also, I looked it up and Mat'Ha is Klingon for "Gunner" if you were wondering.

There's a bunch of Star Trek ship models here. The USS Shenzhou was in Star Trek: Discovery, and for it's part, it was pretty awesome. At that time, you had no idea what they were about to do to the beloved franchise. This is the part where Geordi would yell "Coolant leak! We got a coolant leak!" Seriously, If you are a Star Trek fan, purposefully DO NOT watch Discovery. The damage is un-recoverable and you will be better off having never seen it. In a Star Trek-relevant paradox, the bigger fan you are, the more you have to NOT watch Discovery!

All of these ships are from Star Trek: Discovery. It's a shame that the plot lines and story destroyed the essence of Star Trek, and as a result, all of the cool art designs for these ships is largely unknown. I did watch all the episodes but honestly didn't recognize a single one of these ships, aside from the obvious regular Enterprise up there. Maybe I'm trying to forget? Fascinating.

Her cameo in The Simpsons is a favorite of ours. After she rescues Bart and Lisa from Comic Book Guy, she flies away with them. Lisa says "Xena can't fly!" to which she responds "I told you I'm not Xena, I'm Lucy Lawless!"

It seems like I should not like the thought of the villain Starscream flying with The Wonderbolts, right? But it looks so cool! maybe I should have bought this to find out what that was all about, before judging. That's the point of good comic cover art, you see it and are like... what?!

Whoever does the sculpting on those Bishoujo figures is very talented. They all look very good. Why keep them way up there on those shelves you can't see? I guess it's only for people who already know.

Mordred from Fate: Apocrypha! Smile to all of your fans! That includes us! In Fate: Grand Order, we have never purposefully "rolled" to get her in any rate-up banners, yet we have her at NP5. The odds of that are... incredible! That's a complicated way of saying that maybe... she is a fan of Minty?

Thought I'd get a picture of this big sign. I think it's the one they put above them when they pack up this half of the store to travel to conventions. Glad this sign, and this half of the store, are here today.

Despite the notably less-popular costumes for that Bird of Prey movie, they still made a Nendoroid Harley Quinn from it. I was going to put a fun quote from the movie here, but I can't remember one. So it's not just the costumes that were less memorable.

Meltryllis is one of our most powerful characters in the Fate: Grand Order game. Even though she's a new-created character who is a mash-up of several historical characters, she's still very popular with fans of the game. You can't see them in this package, but she has giant blades on the heels of her shoes and she ballet-kicks the enemies with 'em.

I couldn't tell what was in these Hatsune Miku boxes. Something about racing, and there was a picture of a box corner with a button on it, on the side of the package. But no picture of what was in the box. So I took a picture to try and figure out what it was, later. Is it terrible that I also leave you in the same predicament?

Wonder Twin powers.... ACTIVATE! My friend is a twin, so he grew up as a fan of these twins on the Super Friends cartoon. Yes, they were official members of The Justice League doing hero stuff along side Superman and Batman. Where's their modern movie, Hollywood!?

One more picture of Fate: Grand Order merch before we leave. Here's hanging tags of popular character duos. Holmes and Moriarty in the upper left, below them is Arthur and Merlin. Our favorite would be the top right which is Salem witch Abigail Williams and famous Japanese painter Katsushika Hokusai. Not really a historical pairing, but in the game they are besties and often teamed up with each other.
