OBX Food Break

Who takes pictures of vacation food? I guess we have a little bit more of an excuse to do it because of this blog. There are pictures of the restaurants and stuff, too.

This is the dog, dawg! If you are going to the Outer Banks, you have to treat yourself to a Capt. Frank's hot dog. We were only here for four days but we still went here twice.

More foodie pics click on the "Read more" below!

"...& fine sandwiches?" Who's getting a "fine sandwich?" This place is for HOT DAWGS!

If your name is "Frank" you can get all kinds of captain shirts here.

The Mad Dog had a very nice bit of heat on it. If you know us, that's a good compliment to the hotness of the peppers they were using.

Among the autographed plaques on the wall is the mighty Trump. We saw people sit down, notice it, and then move to another table because they didn't want to look at it. Is that Fake News?

That's a funny sign but would you really eat your best friend? That's a good friend!.... And by "good" I mean his willingness to let you eat him and also perhaps his flavor. Good... is a homonym. Double meaning... no?

We got cotton candy ice cream with pop rocks in it. Some of us got the "popping" from the pop rocks and others couldn't notice anything at all. We also got plain vanilla in case this was too weird.

BK Shuckers is where the old Hooters used to be, and honestly it seemed exactly like it could have been a Hooters anyway. The inside looked just as you would expect. Except without the fun outfits the waitresses would wear. Yeah those were missing. Nevermind it was nothing like a Hooters.

Se still got a bunch of tasty wings at the Hooters, I mean, BK Shuckers.

Do you think they god have gotten a cuter clam for the shirt? Who would want to shuck that thing?

Did we mention there was Caramel Magic Shell for the ice cream? We bought it for the vanilla ice cream but we wound up having it on the cotton candy pop rocks ice cream.

Fancy meal time at Millers on the waterfront. Our 50th Wedding Anniversary friends were down to visit and this time they were treating US? Wait a minute, that's not supposed to work like that.

We got there as the sun was setting and a few minutes later everyone was mentioning that they were distracted and missed it. Minty didn't. We got to show of our pics we took a few minutes earlier. Pro tip: It's a little bit of East Coast "cheating" to get a sunset picture over the water on the west side of the Outer Banks.

Here's the menu. Sorry if it's a little to dark to read it. The sun just set.

Live band upstairs. Some guy was singing Lady Gaga's Poker Face in a really jazzy way. I think she would have liked it.

We relaxed and the patio eventually cleared out. Check out the mood-darkness.

There's a dock over the water and a gazebo. We've been here before so of course we have to go out thee again.

It looks like they added more pier after the gazebo. I would have gotten a better picture but it was really really dark out there. No railing. close to the water. Why are we taking pictures again?

There's the restaurant back there. We thought we'd go check out the bar area upstairs.

Saw the Cornhole boards outside and got a picture of that. Cool they got the logo on it.

The freezer next to the bar has those poetry magnets on it. They need one that says "Minty?"

I was explaining to my friend that we just take a bunch of pictures and sometimes we just don't use one if we can't think of a funny caption later. So this wooden pirate sign,... um. Yeah probably won't use this one.

Ooooooooooo.... Barr-a-cuda. This Barracuda picture got that song stuck in our heads for a while. Sorry if now you do, too.

Back at Capt'n Franks. Like we need to plug this place. Just happy to be here.
