No Scans

Another batch of random pictures from shopping trips. Not exactly an adventure but there's fun stuff to see.

Bam! Looks like someone else is more upset than we are, about the apparent extinction of the price scanners in Walmart stores. We were curious enough to ask an employee why they are getting rid of them everywhere, and were told it's a deliberate attempt to push some kind of phone ap. Who would have thought that Walmart would lead the way into forcing you to use your own technology? They already make you ring up your own orders. How much more can you work for them for free?

Saw this ad on this TV box... Elmo has a talk show!? That sounds awesome! It's gotta be the sweetest thing ever. I can just hear him now: "Elmo has a question, Quentin Tarantino... what's your favorite color?"

I glanced down and saw this Golden Puppy looking at us. I can't quite think of any funny comment about priceless and cute, solid gold adorable,... something. The pieces are all there I just have to put them together.

Can anybody translate what this robot guy is saying on the side of this car? Is this like the crazy tattoo thing where it might just be nonsense but somebody thought it said something cool?

I cannot hear the sound of breaking glass, without also hearing the entrance theme for Stone Cold Steve Austin in my head immediately afterwards. And whenever I see any glance of him, I also hear the glass breaking. I guess it's just one of those things that was so memorable.

There's more than a few people who see this Grogu and instantly know what's going on. Such an awesome moment. We've all seen The Mandalorian by now, right?

'MERICA! Those people over there have knocked out the back wall of their truck and put in another row of seats. Does that count as a Convertible? Honestly, it looks kind of comfy.

Word up, Deadpool! That's from a Teen Titans Go! bit where they joked that he looks just like Deadpool, with them guns and swords. Hey, lots of people have guns and swords! Poor Deathstroke, whenever we see him we think about that funny bit.

Check out the dinosaurs in the mall parking lot! You're supposed to pay something and then get to drive around them, but we can see them through the fence just fine.

A friend pointed out that this would normally be the type of thing you'd actually walk through, but they probably decided on the car thing because of Covid stuff. Don't want to make the dinosaurs sick, right?

Speaking about dinosaurs... Does this Lego Duplo set make any sense? Weren't those Jurassic Park movies basically horror movies where the dinosaurs got loose and started eating people? Sure, your 2 year old kid will love it!

The real horror... is back! Locked away for over a year... reach into the bins and make your own minifigures again. All the germs in the mall, right at your fingertips! If that one kid didn't have all the germs, that other one did, and now they all do!

Seinfeld gets the Lego set treatment! All kinds of fun show trivia is included. Did you know Seinfeld was a big fan of Superman, and included a reference in almost every episode? There he is on the refrigerator! Also includes a Festivus pole and a Coffee Table Book, among other things.

Built on display, you can see it also comes with Jerry's nemesis... say it like on the show.... Newman. The actor Wayne Knight had already had a minifigure of himself in some Jurassic Park sets.

I need some people for a job! The fictional convention on a Rick and Morty episode. Suddenly I have no interest in heists, I can't quite put my finger on why.

I've been told to stay away from the new He-Man show. It would be kind of like this box advertising that it's full of cereal, and then when you open it, it's only got cereal for like half an episode before it's gone, and the rest of your breakfast is something else instead. Oh sure, it might reference the cereal, but you're not going to get the cereal you thought when you bought this package.

Insert record scratch... this has got to be the coolest tie-in merch we've seen in a long time. An actual vinyl record of video game hip-hop heroes Toe Jam & Earl.

Check out all of those tunes! If you're curious, that is indeed Patrick Stewart glancing over my shoulder. It's from the Logan soundtrack, apparently there's a vinyl record for that, too. Not nearly as relevant of a tie in for that movie, as the Toe Jam & Earl video game was all about the funky-fresh beats.

Hilarious! The concept of Alien face-hugger eggs as Easter Eggs is just sooo much clever humor.

Why does Dungeon Master look so evil here? He's supposed to be the nicest guy! Sure he talks in riddles, but that's just so you can feel good when you realize what he was talking about later.

Umm..... what? I need an adult! I need an adult!

Isn't it something when you get a hold of some rare merchandise and then later on, they release a whole bunch of it. I was lucky to have gotten one of these Hello Kitty Animal Crossing Amiibo packs before at regular price... looks like there's plenty of them now.

I don't quite know what to say about Target Monopoly. Wow. I'll point out they use the term "Spark Joy", did they give Marie Kondo some monopoly money for that? Also, one of the tokens is obviously a Starbucks cup, so toss them some monopoly bucks, too. It's a Hasbro game, so they get to use Optimus Prime himself on the Action Figure space. It sounds silly but I really want one of those tiny red baskets!

The Arby's we go to is connected to a huge trucker rest stop, so sometimes we like to wander around and feel like we are on a road trip. Saw this crazy Dragon Motorcycle thing, who buys these? What an odd souvenir this would make.

Crayola unites the world with their box of crayons! Where's the Minty Green crayon? You mean I have to buy a different pack for that one? That's always been what crayons have been like, I guess now they just put all of those colors together.

Just when I was wondering what exactly the color names would be, the colored pencil box has them on the sides. Nice to see color names and not like, peoples-names. That would have been awkward. Still... missing my Minty Green. Should I be offended? Just kidding.
