A Real Mario Party!

Guess what day it is? Er... night? It's the release of the new Nintendo Wii U video game console! We ventured out to Rockefeller Center in New York, at the Nintendo World shop to check out the party that was going on.

We were lucky to get these cool light-up foam sticks they were giving away for people to wave around. Also this is a nice view of the Nintendo store corner. The store wasn't going to open until midnight but the party was going on outside.

These Mii characters were dancing around and parading down the line. The line to buy a Wii U went up the avenue, down a block, and back up the avenue. In case you haven't been to New York, I can tell you that's a pretty long line!

This is Reggie Fils-Aime the Chief Operating Officer of Nintendo of America. He's kind-of a video game world celebrity, so it was pretty cool watching him pump up the crowd. We didn't stick around until midnight since we weren't actually buying a system there (ours was already pre-ordered before were knew we could go to this party!) But it was fun to go and check out the event.

One more thing to mention there were tons of people with 3DS systems and even though we wound up with over 40 street-passes, there could have been lots more. And we unfortunately didn't get one from the main-man Reggie (even though we were like 20 feet away from him at one point!) So I guess the point is, turn on your street pass everybody! Haha this is turning into a real blog post I usually don't ramble on like this!

While we were in Rockefeller Center, we snapped a picture of the Today Show studio. Minty wants to be on TV! Trivia: when you watch the show, if you could look out the window behind the hosts, the Nintendo World store is just to the right on the other corner of the plaza.

The Xmas tree was in the Plaza but not all decorated and stuff yet. We still took a picture anyway.
