OBX! part 1

OBX is short for "Outer Banks" which is the um, island-sandbar thing on the North Carolina shore. I was able to go on a weekend vacation so of course we took some pictures! We took a bunch of pictures so I'm going to break this into a couple parts so it's not so overwhelming (would it be?)

This is right on the... border... of Virginia and North Carolina. It's a neat rest stop and gift shop for lots of cool touristy stuff for both states. So "stop" here for a minute and then click on the "Read more" to continue the vacation?

Jar Jar Bugs

This happened enough recently to make a post of it, don't get creeped out! Instead of squishing bugs, we try to catch them and put them back outside. It's a lot less messy, and the bugs can't be blamed for being lost, right? Plus I get to make new friends while they pose for pictures with me?

This tiny grasshopper was crawling on the blinds. Good thing we got it, because even when these things are outside, you can hear them pretty loudly at night. Last year there was one in the house and it made it nearly impossible to get any sleep!

Here's a cricket that was jumping around in the bathtub. I wonder if it wanted to take a shower?

This Dragonfly flew right into the car! We were trying to coax it toward the open window with the back of an umbrella, it eventually landed ON the umbrella. So we were able to carefully move it outside.

Picking Flowers

Hi Everypony! While out bike riding we thought it might be fun to "pick" some flowers for our cute girl friend. Um that means taking pictures... which I usually shorten to "pics." So we were "Pic"-ing flowers?

These flowers were a bright fluorescent purple. You can kinda tell in the picture but I think they looked a little brighter than the pic shows. Click on the "Read more" to see some more flowers!

Candy... Bar?

These stairs are a classic New York landmark of sorts, I'm here at Dylan's Candy Bar in Manhattan. Yum!

That's a lot of gumballs!

This is only a statue of a giant chocolate bunny. Not actually chocolate. No I did not try to take a bite out of it... not at all...

You might just think "Candy Bar" is a clever name but there actually is a "Bar" upstairs complete with alcoholic drinks involving various treats like Cotton Candy, Nerds, and Peppermint.

The bar also serves kid-friendly stuff like Ice Cream and this Cookie Monster Donut.

Thou Haveth an Adventure

Huzzah! Trip to the Renaissance Faire! I was happy to be able to tag along and get some pictures!

Big Fish That Transform?

We found these treasures in Yonkers and had to take a picture to prove this "I caught a fish THIS BIG" story was real. The price tag below them is what they were selling for, $132... EACH. There will be a lot of ponies out there who will think we were fools NOT to buy all 4 of these ($527.96 +tax!) but we didn't even buy 1 of these. We're not into the whole resell-for-profit game, but we know these are quickly going to be very valuable, so it was fun catching this picture and "throwing the fish back into the water."
