Year's 1st Bike Ride

Finally the weather was good enough to go on a bike ride! That sounds a little crazy since it's June already but afternoons have been chilly or rainy up until now.

Just a nice "establishing shot" to show we're on a BIKE! We were out for a couple of hours it was a beautiful day.

Hop on board and click the "Read more" below for some pictures!

Attention city planners: THIS is the correct type of bike trail. Nice paved, wide, path separated from the car's road. See that tiny stripe next to the road? Riding your bike there is quite terrifying as the cars wiz past you. Stay over here!

What? Underground secret lab? Some kind of monster escaped? Why else would this drain cage be all wreaked open?

Did the escaped monster drink all the water in the fountain? Eat all the coins?

The local Rescue Squad was having a yard sale! We didn't get to look around much but they probably have these things all the time, right?

Back to the trail! You won't be able to see the chipmunk in the middle it's that tiny brown blur, but those things were CRAZY that day. It would be on the side of the trail and right when you were close it would dash right out in front of the bike! Yikes! We nearly hit at least three of them!

Big ole' tree of flowers with a bright sun behind it? Probably makes a good picture! During the bright day it's nearly impossible to see the screen on the camera so I guess we're lucky to get any good pictures at all.

You'll have to look closely to see the upside-down kid's chair in that ditch. If we could only pull it out and ask what it's story was and how it wound up in that ditch.

Oh, my. Honeysuckles have THE BEST SMELL EVER! We just stopped here for a little bit to enjoy the smell.

Giant pine trees had an intense smell like you got furniture polish crammed up your nose. It was a little overwhelming but still pleasant.

More pretty flowers. Feel free to use pictures here as computer desktop wallpapers?

There was an odd bird up in that tree looked like a crow but had a bright orange spot on the wing. Some kind of Super Crow?

Odd house in a neighborhood with a giant mowed yard and NOTHING in it? Why don't these ponies want to go outside? No patio furniture, nothing. It was a little creepy?

Ho-hum, more flowers. I mean check out all the variety of flowers planted all around here!

The highlight of the trip was seeing our old buddy giant swan. We didn't see it at all last year and maybe the year before that? Anyway it had been a long time so we were happy to see it again safe and sound. Even though you can see a guy fishing right next to it (near the right edge of this picture,) we didn't want to get closer and scare it away.
