Cabin Fever?

Okay, what happened? I know I was posting pictures from the Toy Fair for a while, and during that time, massive changes happened around the world. The Covid-19 Pandemic has urged everyone to stay away from each other and how strange is the result. Having a "warehouse" job, little had changed for my friend. He went to work as usual, stayed away from people, fast-food drive thru for lunch, go home. It was not very different than his normal routine, for the most part. Until about a week ago...

One night he got "the chills" and checked his temperature. Fever. Boom. Instant out-of-work for two weeks, minimum. Toasty waterbed plus 12 blankets got rid of the chills and acetaminophen got the fever down. A "small amount of" panic and uncertainty about how this would progress turned out to be "very minor symptoms." So minor in fact, that we're not even sure if my friend actually DID have the "Covid 19" at all. There was definitely some vague head-cold feeling, like he should have been stuffed up, but wasn't. No trouble breathing at all. As I write this on Sunday when the fever happened last Tuesday night. So we're still vaguely worried but optimistic that we were either spared from the worst case or lucky we did not actually get it. Yet still expecting to be sucker punched when we least expect it.

Having said all that, I suppose it's okay to have some fun with the pictures we've taken over the preceding weeks. I guess this stuff happened, and we got some pictures, so might as well record it in the blog. One day we can look back at this and think a different bunch of thoughts. If you are reading this, I hope you are doing well.

Watched a game from the new XFL Football League and thought it might be a silly fun thing to support. Plus we saw this Baby Yoda team t-shirt on a fan in the stands and thought it was awesome! Of course shortly after this, all sporting events were cancelled. So the thought of going to the stadium and seeing a game was... intercepted!

These showed up at work, before the crazy shortages started. At first we thought the enormous size of this bottle was silly, but now it feels about right.

The first weekend when people thought they might need to bunker-in was crazy. We got a few pictures of shelves emptying.

About a week before the crash, we had already ran out of Toilet Paper, and while we usually buy the "small pack" to just give us another reason to go get more later, this time we had bought the "big pack" because we had cleared some cabinet space in the bathroom. That's just pure "luck" I guess?

We did score some sodas. These are the zero-calorie ones if you were wondering.

Target was also out of TP. Thankfully we don't have to imagine what it would be like to need some and not have any... for a while at least. They were saying it's not a supply issue, they have plenty of TP, they just don't have the trucks available to drive this type of quantity to all the stores!

WWE Wrestling with no audience? It happened. If nobody is around to smell what The Rock is cooking, did he actually cook anything?

For a while, the biggest change for us was eating lunch in the car after hitting the drive thru. KFC had new french fries which reminded us of Rally's fries. Which is awesome because we don't have those up here in New Jersey.

I'm trying to be positive about St. Patrick's Day with this sad Shamrock Shake the manager refused to "try again." and insisted I just stir it. This was right at the beginning of "you have to take it home to eat."

Fortunately I have stir sticks at home, and while it could have been better, I guess it was better-than-nothing. Silly traditions, what's to get upset about?

This was the first Tape-on-Floor marks we saw at the Walgreen's. I remember thinking what an awesome idea that was.

Right as the hoarding rush began, we scored some acetaminophen "just in case" and hoped to never have to use it. I can't express the comfort this gave my friend knowing he had it during the night of the fever.

Saw this fun news bit about medical TV shows donating the "props" because it was easier to buy real masks and gloves than to get props made. And now they have a surplus to give back. So the medical SHOW is helping real medical needs. Whoa.

Serious, Netflix? I know these are popular searches, but not exactly what "I" want to see right now.

We went into the Five Guys and all "stuff" was behind the counter. We asked for some peanuts and got like a WHOLE BAG of them!

Our favorite Smash Burger was all-the-way closed. I hope they are all okay, and that this will be back once things calm down.

Saw this "Bella" necklace on the ground of an empty parking lot and it brought up thoughts of an apocalypse. What's Bella's story?

It got weirder and weirder to go out shopping as people started wearing masks and more tape lines appeared. Stay safe everyone!

This is one of the Adult Swim commercial bump things. We found it funny because this is Animal Crossing stuff and we are currently hooked on that as well.

This was the free Doritos Locos Tacos we got, on our last day out. Later that night was "the fever." Sorry if you are stuck at home right now, craving Taco Bell. We are, too.

We never gave this plant a name, we got it for Xmas, and it's still hanging in there. So it's just watching TV with us all day. That's Mademoiselle Frizzy back there, trying to cheer us up, too. I still have some random silly pictures to share from like, late February and early March. But I thought it might as well share these crazy ones first.
