Brickfair NJ 2014

We're big fans of Lego so when they were having a convention nearby, of course we went to get some pictures! It's kind of like an art show? I'm posting tons of pictures because there was so much stuff to look at. All in one post this time I hope it's no too much.

Haha awesome t-shirt. It's funny that they chose a classic 80's spaceship as his choice but I don't really think he'd build a spaceship?

Click on the "Read more" there are a lot more pictures here!

This claw machine was one of those "I'm not really going to grab things" claws. I don't think anypony won anything at all here.

These tiny blocks are called Modulex, and were made by Lego so they are legit for building "pure Lego" models. They don't really fit together with normal Lego bricks.

Our new friends at CloneArmyCustoms.com was selling custom-printed Troopers from the Clone Wars TV Series. I'm standing next to CT-5555, who everypony knows goes by the name "Fives."

This is a cool idea but they are using GLUE?! AHHH! Not the Kragle!!!

These other light switch covers were also a cool idea.

The models usually had fun hidden things like this lightsaber duel between General Blinky and Darth Mr. Burns.

One fun part was the Great Ball Contraption that moved Lego soccer balls around the table with various motors. They even pass this counter and flip old-clock-style numbers.

Check out my friend Grumpy Cat was there?!

Lego or Art? This does not look like a toy, does it?

Not fully "Lego," but the Hex Bug maze was fun to watch for a while.

Mountain Lair? Not sure if these guys were Evil but their lair looked like it might have been.

Bionicles were there, too. I liked the brick-built background here.

Some of the "Bionicle" creations were very dynamic.

Katamari?! Squeee! We love that game! The Tetris next to it was simple and cool, too.

Haha Old-School Batman climbing a building having a chat with Santa in the window!

I thought we took a better picture of this castle, here only showing the base. This thing was like 5 feet tall, it was amazing!

Rancor takes a bath? It doesn't look too happy about it!

Micro-scale city. Who's up for some Godzilla stomping?

We have a friend who missed out on this set when it was in the stores, so we always try to keep an eye out for it when we get a chance. So here it was. WAY too expensive to get, instead we just got a picture of it.

Throw a ping-pong ball into a fishbowl to win a random bag of Lego bricks? We actually won a bag!

Our clever friend knew this was the Yankee's training stadium in Florida. Where's Jeter?

The drive-in movie theatre had a device built in to it playing, of course, The Lego Movie!

Here's our merchandising haul from the show. We even got Fabuland figures for $6 each! There's a London Olympics Archer and Nurse Harley Quinn amongst the goodies along with the super-random bag we won with the ping pong ball. It was a fun time!
