My friend's job is very close to one of the New Jersey Turnpike's rest stops. Even though he has worked there for a few years now, we never really thought about going there for lunch because of the hassle of well, getting on and off the highway. Turns out, you can just drive behind it and park in what must be an employee lot. When we got inside, we thought about taking pictures to share.
Normally a single lunch does not get us excited for picture sharing, but there was such an overwhelming feeling of being on vacation going on. So taking some pictures allows us to share that.

The lunch was very good. Roy Rogers has great roast beef sandwiches and curly fries. Yum. The only thing that was ugh about the whole experience was the $13 cost of the lunch. But honestly we were having a blast so we didn't really care at all and kinda added to the feeling of "who cares we're on vacation!"
There's also a Nathan's Hot Dogs, and Cinnabun behind us here. In case you were wondering if there were more options.
There's a fixin's bar, which had a bin of jalapenos. So yeah we'll be back for some of those probably. Do they go with curly fries?
Like hearing an old song can remind you of a time, usually when we've visited one of these rest stops, we've been travelling to a fun place. It was amazing to have that feeling even though we knew we were just at lunch, it still stuck with us all afternoon.
Here's a new find-your-name thing we haven't seen before. Will they ever have one of these that says "Minty?" Haha probably not.

It was fun to see how far away we are from places. Seeing Virginia Beach on this made us want to just escape work and REALLY go on a vacation!
Of course we grabbed a bunch of flyers to show off to coworkers. We've actually done personalized merch for a few of these! I guess we should plan a real vacation?
