Recently I wandered through the hardware store, I was looking for some potting soil for the plant we got last-last Xmas. Our plant's soil looked a little "moldy" and we were hoping to find a little bit, but of course they only sell the soil in giant super bags for like, your whole lawn. Can you believe we forgot to take a picture of the giant dirt bags? We got some others while we were in there... so enjoy those!
The outside garden section was complete with the typical hardware store "bird squad" if you look all around up there you can see them. One of them dreams of building their own birdhouse instead of a plain old sticks nest. That's another million dollar movie idea from Minty!
While we did not find the soil we were looking for, we did find that they sell the corn we feed the squirrels. We ordered in bulk online, and we still have a few left, but when we need more we can just go here. It's even a little less expensive in the store, if you can believe it.
Disappointed that we did not find a little bag of potting soil, we decided to at least wander around and get some pictures. For example, this thing... blows. Does you lawn need a job involving blowing?
Ever since we saw the movie with the same title as this thing, we totally pronounce it like Mah-chet-tay. It's not a kid's movie, but if you're a kid, you wouldn't want to get a machete anyway! Extra picture-points for crazy weird axe thing over there, too.
Is Dragon Glass the stuff that kills White Walkers in Game of Thrones? They got bags of it right at the local hardware stores! Hahahaha!
Determined to find a silly name among the wood panel selections, the best we could do was "Snowbird Walnut" which is a little silly but not as much as we were expecting to find.
Hmm... Which shade of green am I? You can zoom in and read all of the color names. None of them say "Minty" though.
Marble patterns. Not sure about the protocols with taking the sample squares home for matching purposes. There was nobody around to ask, and no signs with explanations. We've never shopped for marble counter tops before, so we don't know about that stuff.
Forget the little thin cards, these were full-on blocks of the stuff! They looked kinda neat, and even if the samples cost a few bucks each, they would make great figure stands for our display cabinets. Anybody know what's the deal with these samples?
Fake stain glass windows? This looked pretty cool. Too bad our apartment doesn't really have but a couple of windows and this type of thing wouldn't really work on them. But you might be able to use this idea where you are?
Do the environmentalists know about this crazy water-wasting machine? Obviously this message is trying to be snarky and eye-catching with it's outrageous claim. How clean do you need your clothes? I SAID MORE WATER! More! ..... MORE!
You've all heard about the refrigerator that buys groceries for you, I think this is it. Maybe it can get weather forecasts, and if it detects any kind of big storm coming, it automatically panics and buys tons of... MILK AND BREAD!!! Without you having to worry about it!
Those oval windows in the doors there looked very odd for some reason. Not sure why, so let's get a picture of it. Does this looks odd to you, too?
Big slabs of woooooood! What can we build with this? What do you mean, city approved building permits? You can't just make a shed?
Yes yes yes, it's a "cheap" picture to take and caption. I'm making it worse by typing out this explanation, when all I needed was the simple one word.
Stop.
(...Hammer time?)
This store has everything except the kitchen sink. No wait, it has those, too. Nevermind.
Hahahaha! Lead in water testing kit. Includes one kid, who drinks the water. What a funny picture to put on the package!
I really thought we had gotten more pictures in there. On the way out, we got a picture of the nearby water tower that claims Milltown is "The Greatest Little Town in the Land". Really? Can you define "the Land"? And what exactly are we comparing here? Is that a little boastful to put up there for all visitors to see? You know, my Little Town is pretty great, too!
