Brickfest part 2

Even though it was a lot smaller than we expected, there's still a bunch of pictures we got from the Brickfest event.

This looks almost like a video pixels screen, but it's a giant Lego brick model. Is it bad of me to not know if this is from anything? Is it from a game or movie? You may have heard of Lego models referred to as a MOC, which stands for My Own Creation. So it could be somebody's original MOC.

There was an area with a bunch of giant statues from various historical cultures. It was a little crowded over here, but I was able to sneak some pictures without other people in the way.

Each one had a background scenery panel behind it. They were pretty much life-sized and obviously set up to be a parade of selfie opportunities.

These were so big and must have taken so long to make, I kinda felt like I owed it to the effort to get pictures of each of them.

I got a closer picture of this Egypt guy. Do you think these are more impressive, or less impressive, as you get closer to them?

How! That's how the Native Americans say "Hi!" but it looks silly when I type it. How?

This is the last one. I wonder if they add a new one to each show? They look like they'd be tough to move around.

The middle area had this enormous mosaic depicting Marvel super heroes and DC super heres looking like they were about to attack each other. I think there was a thing where kids were given instructions to build parts of this, that were then combined to make the whole thing. But it was already complete when we got there.

If I have to throw my opinion here, about DC vs Marvel, I think they are ALL "good guys" and would not have any reason to fight in the first place.

The "Dealer" section was almost non-existent. They had a bunch of sets for sale, but it was all regular available-at-a-store stuff. No individual minifigures from sets, no old sets. Might as well have been at a Target or Walmart.

Why make a giant Lego statue of Lego version of Darth Vader? Shouldn't this be regular Darth Vader? Eh, it's cute. Wait, should Darth Vader be "cute"?

A lot of space was taken up with a slot car racing thing. This area was one of the busy spots.

I don't know how long they were given, but the kids had some time to make cars out of Lego bricks. We were going to come back to see the race, so we kept looking over to see when we had to run back and watch.

There was a small concession place to get food, if you were hungry. We ate before we got here. I should have gotten a picture of the menu to see if it was outrageously expensive, like conventions usually are.

Here's the table where the R-3X guy was from. Looks like they build Star Wars droids. Lego does do Star Wars, but these seem a little out-of-place at something called "Brickfest". But hey, it's cool stuff, so it gets a pass, and I'm excited to see some cool droids.

Is this droid's name really "CHEEP"? Yikes. From a real episode of Clone Wars. Technically the episodes that happen during Revenge of The Sith movie, too. Free trading cards? Can these guys be any cooler?

Sorry Chopper, I was never a fan of your character. You just seemed to put people in danger far to often to be considered funny. Like, actual danger, just to be a snarky little punk. You might have gotten better later in the show, but I still wouldn't trust you with anything.

Judging by the remote behind him, I think this little Babu Frik might have been movable. If Star Wars The Rise of Skywalker was any kind of good movie, no doubt Babu Frik would have his own Disney+ series by now. He was so close to being the cool new character, it's a shame the movie was such a train wreck.

It's not a castle or a building, but a huge ship model with lots of rooms inside to explore and check out!

Pirates and Star Wars characters helping each other with this ship. There's even a pirate guy wearing an X-Wing pilot suit. Yeah Lego! Now that's how you do it!

The ship's engine was spinning. Full speed ahead!

Various scales of ships. Another Lego thing, that you can build whatever you want however big you want it.

Sure, I'll get a picture of their group's ad. Gotta like the giant comic custom Lego minifigure pictures.

Oh, wow! That's clever! They made a giant Lego Classic Space moon buggy that is the size of those Space Explorer minifigure plushies!

I noticed the Lego Friends 10th Anniversary set. It was given away to Lego employees only, so it's neat to see it. Either they work for Lego, or spent a lot of money to get one from somebody who does.

Giant airport with runway. Look at all that runway! If you peek at the right edge of the picture, you can see somebody is an Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. fan. It's Lola! Coulson's red sportscar.

We saw the promo for the Lego Master contestants, so we got a pic of it. It's autographed by both of them, so they must both be around here somewhere?

Wall of bricks! I snapped a pic to see if we could see any secret messages, without having to stop and spend a bunch of time here at the moment. I should have wasted a bunch of time and put a Minty ad up here, but that's a lot of time...

OH! The slot race was starting, so we rushed back to get a picture of some of the cars. That one car had ridiculous large wings on the front and didn't even fit in the spot, but they got it up there eventually.

The tracks were not linked to start together, so they ran three separate races. I didn't see any trophies or prizes, but there must have been something, you think?

These kids were wrecking the table! Everything that people built! Where are the parents!? We saw somebody tell they to move the bricks back to the other tables, so it looks like it's "okay" afterall, and they were simply helping reset the activity. So new people arriving can build stuff.

We've had enough of the event and went out to the front area to get a break. Looks like one of the cushions had a little "p" on it! We all got a laugh out of that coincidence joke. Why is there a tiny paper "p" on this seat?

So much convention area! It's been a while since we've been to a big convention, so even this small one felt fun enough. It was not as much as we were hoping for, but I'm still glad we went.
