2019 New York Toy Fair Anime

Continuing our pictures from the 2019 New York Toy Fair with a bunch from Anime. So there's a good chance you won't be too familiar with these characters, or you'll be super excited to see a show you know.

Here's Megumin from the show Konosuba. The show is a comedy about a world like a classic role playing video game, and Megumin puts all of her experience points into "Explosion Magic" only. So she gets one enormous nuclear-sized Explosion Spell per day but is otherwise completely useless.

EXPLOSION! [Passes out] Barely able to reach up and click the "Read more" to check out more pictures...

Here's a "pajamas version" of Megumin. Because, remember, this is anime, and are you really a fan of anime if you don't want pajama versions of your favorite characters?

Random grouping of characters from various different shows. That one is pointing it's gun at the other one? Why does she need a gun AND a sword? Oh that's right; anime.

I suppose Hatsune Miku should be included with the "video game" pictures but she's kind of like an anime. Here's another popular Nendoroid figure, looks like a Chinese New Year version?

We've all heard about the Xmas Elf on The Shelf, but I'd much rather have this Miku on my shelf.

Characters from my friend's favorite series Fate. The one on the right is a magical re-incarnation of King Aurthur who fights for you to win The Holy Grail, and the wish it will grant. Haha that sounds so silly when I write it, but it's really a good show.

Garden Fairy Hatsune Miku! I think this is technically a "racing" outfit for cheering on her race car team.

The people behind us were laughing that these looked like Russian Nesting Doll versions of the Dragon Ball Z characters ranking their power levels from highest to lowest.

Nendoroid characters can inter-change their parts and here are some pajamas you can get for them. So you can make your favorite person look comfy at night.

Here's a bunch of Naruto characters looking all powerful and stuff. Stay out of this display case, it's dangerous in there!

Classic Bulma from Dragon Ball in a transforming motorcycle chair robot thing. She was all smart and strong girl before that was popular.

Gundam robots! We could have taken a bunch more pictures of these they all looked really cool.

Hmm... These have little people next to them, and they make the robots look a lot smaller than we thought they were.

Okay one more picture of another case with cool giant robots. Check out the shiny golden one in the back there.

Hey check out young Goku here with his tail still. Before they cut off his tail, he would turn into a giant mindless ape monster when he powered up. Grown-up tailless Goku is probably the most powerful character created for anything ever. Name any character and Goku could beat him, haha. He'd be all "Here Thanos, I gathered the Infinity Stones for you so I could fight you at your strongest!" It might take him 50 episodes to power up, but Goku would win.

Here's the nine characters from Love Live: Sunshine. Their singing group name is Aqours but it's pronounced like "Aqua." They have many outfits and there are nine of them so that could be quite a collection if they want it to be!

This is Ruby and why is she sticking out her tongue? That's not really consistent with her personality she's very shy on the show.

Here's fan-favorites Hanamaru and Yoshiko. Hanamaru is a bookworm and has a very adorable way of talking by adding the word "zura" to the end of every sentence zura. And Yoshiko is very committed to her fantasy of believing she is the Fallen Angel Yohane cast out of Heaven.

We've seen these cute plushies from My Hero Academia in stores before but not all of these characters. Who's your favorite?

Here's another different racing outfit for Hatsune Miku to cheer on her race car team.

They make a new race outfit every year. Because you just gotta have the whole collection of course.

Retsuko! From the popular anime mini episodes that were made into an English series on Netflix called Aggretsuko. Like her shirt says, cool.

f you are not familiar with this show, Retsuko is a red panda who has a boring, annoying office job and vents her daily frustrations singing death metal songs. That's why you often see two versions of her; the normal office worker and the death metal singer.

These blind boxes have some of her co-workers! That Hippo is the classic clueless over-friendly pushy nosy what's-going-on-over-here-guys.... AHHHHH!!!!! Cut to death metal music and growly voice: GO AWAY!!!!!

Our vote for best keychains of the show. We'll hang one at work for sure.

I wonder if Andy Warhol gets any credit for coming up with this art pattern of the random color multi panel simple square things. That was Andy Warhol, right?

Every year we ask the Yu-Gi-Oh people if they have any promo cards and they never do. That activates my Trap Card! Haha that's a term from the card game. I guess the trap allows me to um, just take a picture and tell this lame story about it.
