Picture Dredge

Got a few more interesting pictures while out riding the bike.

How did this boat get in the canal? It fits almost the whole width and there are no ramps or anything in this section. I guess this whole canal was dug on purpose a long time ago so it makes sense it would need a bit of maintenance like this.

Click on the "Read more" below to dredge up some more pictures.

How does this work? Are they pumping the dirt through this hose? This is possibly the longest hose we've ever seen, it went on for a few miles at least.

We turned around for the day here, but you can still see the hose going further on. Who needs some canal dirt? Is there a "this is Trump dredging the swamp joke" I'm missing here?

What a nice view of the canal river. Y'know, except with a big odd hose. I'm sure all the nature will leave that thing alone.

Still cool to watch all the water crushing around this gate. It's even more fascinating that the river seems very calm, in both directions, not that far from all this action.

Moved to the tree branch? Is it the same pony who put these here in the first place, but wanted them to be seen better? Can't they get the same type of attention on the internet easier? Er... I guess I'm helping with that, aren't I?

There are a lot of "greedy" trees that tried to grow over the canal and wound up falling in. Careful not to drive you bicycle into the hole!

Water bubbling up from underneath somewhere? There were no pipes to be seen at the edge. Should we be worried?

Finally got some water in the fountain this year. Nothing says "that's right, we're awesome and have a lot of money to waste" than a big 'ole fountain. Probably not that wasteful, but looks like it.

When we tried to shoo this deer away from the road, it paused as if to ask for treats or something. We didn't have any but seriously we are right next to the big road here! Shoo!

How is your boy paying his tuition at Princeton? I guess going to Princeton is awesome but hope they do not make you stay in Dick-in-son Hall. Not that there's anything wrong with that, if that's what he wants.
