Wookie Hugs!

Vacation Pictures! Further than Disney World, these pictures are from a long long time ago, in a galaxy far far away! More specifically, the Black Spire Outpost on the planet Batuu. On the Galaxy's Edge. Minty's own personal Star Wars adventure!

Traveling here is like a warm hug from a friendly Wookie! Like the Force itself, this place surrounds you and flows through you with all the the power that Star Wars has to offer. You feel completely immersed and it's very easy to imagine yourself right in the movies as if it was totally real.

Here's the "entrance" to the Galaxy's Edge part of Disney's Hollywood Studios theme park. On the other side of this, you'll be IN Star Wars!

Laser-carved tunnels with wired mining lights. The anticipation is intense.

Our first glimpse of Batuu. That's the name of the planet we're on. The Resistance is hiding here while the First Order has shown up to check the place out.

Even the trash cans are "themed." See the letters above the number? That's a language called Aurebesh which is Disney's standard "space font" we practiced a lot before we came here so we can read that it says "trash to sector 3263827" Movie nerds can point out that was the door number Luke Skywalker told C-3PO to open for the trash compactor.

Check out this refreshment cart, driven by a droid. That's a Coca Cola logo in Aurebesh on the front! You are so 100% surrounded by Star Wars that even the sodas are not going to make you think otherwise.

This is not a movie prop, but could be. What is this? Who cares, it looks cool. That's a Star Wars thing.

That's an A-Wing Fighter! Looks like you could just hop in and fly it away!

The other tourists are the only thing kind of getting in the way of the illusion. Would it be funny to see tourists like this in the next movie?

Land Speeders! That sign says "Speeder Repair. By Appiontment ONLY. Ask For Salju"

Is that an X-34 Landspeeder? Ever since the XP-38 came out, they just aren't in demand anymore.

Droids outside of the Droid Factory. Everywhere you look is a picture to be taken.

The Power Droid over there is known as a "Gonk" droid because of the noise it makes while walking. This one didn't walk.

The doors have the familiar panels on them. If you download the phone app, you can "hack" these things for Resistance or First Order use! The lights change and make noise if you do!

Here's a picture of the space sink in the restroom. I know, gross I took a picture in the restroom. It's only the sink. Relax, the toilets were um, "normal."

So much to gush over in every direction you look. Do you want me to point out things like the prequel Battle Droid in the cage there, or the Hoth Probe Droid bits hanging on the wall? There's a lot more here in just this one picture!

First Order Stormtroopers looked like they were having too much fun harassing the tourists. What's your business here?

Here's a new ship! Some kind if Tie Fighter shuttle.

Oh, wow, that's a lot of text to translate. We didn't practice that much! Get yourself an Aurebesh translator? Something about an Outer Rim Expedition.

There
It
Is.
In full-sized glory.
THE
Millennium Falcon!

Seeing a picture of this is just like watching the movie. You really need to be here, really HERE, to get the feeling, the connection. It gets better... Could you imagine getting a chance to fly that? No need to imagine anymore. There's pictures later of that.

We were eating lunch, and Chewbacca, Rey, and Finn met right in front of us! They do not act like other Disney Theme Park Characters where they are only there for photo ops. They wander around, "living life" and we just happened to catch this wonderful moment.

This First Order Officer was trying to MAKE AN EXAMPLE OF this poor tourist. Kylo Ren came around and pulled him away on important business.

Kylo Ren berated the officer for wasting time and demanded he expose Resistance members, threatening him with a force-choke before going into the shuttle. You need to zoom-in to see him, we got the picture when he was going into the smoke coming out of the shuttle ramp.

Time for some milk! If you've paid attention to the movies, there's blue milk and green milk.

Random picture of blaster shots in the wall. Must have been Stormtroopers aiming in this direction. They are great at hitting walls.

Do you need me to translate that? It says "Water" of course. Space pipes.

Here's a fun space rock with space fungus on it.

Here's a few bonus pictures when we went over to the old Launch Bay, which is still in Disney's Hollywood Studios park, but outside of the Galaxy's Edge area.

Again, we are impressed that this giant billboard says "Streaming Now" for The Mandalorian, and today was the first day the Disney+ thing went live.

What day was it? November 12th. Aww... this poster had not been replaced yet. Slackers! Haha they are human after all.

The Launch Bay has movie models in display cabinets. This one is from the Solo movie, so this is new for us since the last time we were here.

Here's the cool shuttle from Rouge One. Remember this thing?

They hyped this up as "Han Solo's Speeder" but really he only stole it for like one ride. Sounds better than "That one Speeder Han Solo stole for five minutes".

Here's a U-Wing from Rouge One. In front of a B-Wing and a X-Wing. You think every alphabet letter gets a ship?

"Caution Volatile Contents" Good thing we can read these signs. We can be cautious now.

Here's the cool Praetorian Guard sword thing that turned into a whip. in The Last Jedi.

Also from The Last Jedi, this is the massive ship they dropped bombs on, in space. Can you drop bombs in space? Who cares, it looked cool. Remember, that's a legit Star Wars thing.

The Launch Bay is where to go for the photo ops with Star Wars characters. On the other side of this door was Lord Vader himself. I was a little scared to get a "Minty Picture" of him, so here's the door!
