Splash Bird

Another group of pictures with no theme. Let's see what we saw over the last week or so.

This was a pretty cool thing. The melting snow was dripping through the ceiling at work, hitting the desk and making this awesome bird-like splash pattern on the wall. Is there any meaning to this? Accidental coincidental image, or is this on purpose somehow? I almost expected it to fly away. Whoa!

The snow plow um... plowed snow right up next to the car. We had to climb in through the passenger side. We backed into this parking spot for like a solid week! Don't worry it was only a couple of times before we could open the driver's side door. Still had to climb over a bunch of snow, though.

Another wacky Valentine's item. When you push the button to play the song, the... bottom... would wiggle up and down. No shame.

Discovered this fun bit and had to share. While browsing Google Maps to check out the old Old Country Buffet location, we saw they had changed it to a Outback Steak House.

Curiously, we switched to the Street View mode, and saw a wrecked lot with a bunch of construction going on. That's kind of sad since we still miss the OCB. Moving the view to the parking lot to get another angle on the construction when....

BAM! The Ghost of OCB magically appears! AHHH!! An unintended "gotcha!" from Google Maps, as the place is figuratively, and now literally, haunting us.

A surely-cold squirrel out enjoying the snow. We were trying to get a picture of it in the snow but this was the best we could do, as it quickly bolted up into the tree after grabbing a treat.

We made sure to give it lots of treats, I don't think it's going to find any acorns it hid among all this snow.

1968?! Really? We looked it up, and indeed the New York Jets one and only Superbowl appearance was 53 years ago! That was so long ago, what's the point in displaying this banner? I say that as a Jets fan, too.

This t-shirt made me laugh enough to get a picture of it. My friend never did the whole skateboard thing, but he did play a lot of the Tony Hawk video games so that's gotta count for something.

Remember when the word "MacGyver" was used descriptively? Here's a game for you! Does this mean it's going to be nearly impossible to win? Hope you're MacGyver enough to solve it!

Snow-perbowl Sunday! Any other year, this would be a huge tradgedy as you would not be able to get to your Football Party. But Covid World says stay home anyway.

Still worried about those bushes outside the window... You don't realize how heavy water is until the poor plant goes crashing down.

We did this while it was still snowing but it didn't snow too much after this anyway. We probably would have been okay leaving it alone this time.

Up on the hill, the snow measured a much-deeper 10 and a half inches! That feels about right, with all of the snow on top of snow on top of snow we've been getting recently.

Here's one picture of "ohhh the pretty snow!" before we get back inside to the toasty warm apartment.

Why not? We cooked the whole bag of wings and the whole box of cheese-filled pretzel things. Slow-munching throughout the game, it lasted until halftime! And yes my friend was completely stuffed.

The commercials were kinda "meh" this year but a good laugh was had with "Drake from State Farm" as the filming stand-in for regular spokesperson Jake. Drake was nailing the cliché of an awkward singer who can't act, does that mean he's actually a good actor?

Even with all the wings and pretzels, we still managed to get some ice cream. How many other people treat Superbowl Sunday as a 2nd "Thanksgiving" where you can eat all the food you want, without guilt? Also... this picture can be considered it's own... Super-Bowl Sundae.

How about this stat? Math says Tom Brady has won 7/55 games which is about one out of every eight Superbowls. We were rooting for Brady only because he used to be a Patriot, and now he's a Buccaneer. And that's just amusing, thematically, that he was like a loyal statesman for a long time... but now he's a pirate.

Saw the frozen water spout and it looked like it would be a cool picture to get.  You'd think that water moving down this spout couldn't freeze like this, right? It's almost like a time-stop effect.

Of course there's physics involved with the water freezing a little bit at a time. You think there's some water at the top of this in some kind of line queue nightmare? "What's taking so long down there?! Argh! Other water drops want to use the drain spout, too!!"

This picture might not accurately show how huge this mountain of snow next to the car is. It's like twice as tall as the car. Also, notice it snowed on top of the snow pile. These parking lot piles are usually "dirty" grey snow but this one is shiny-white because more recent snow covered it.

Monopoly themed car comes with an exclusive Monopoly Game Token of the car. That's so cool! Can everything come with a Monopoly Token of itself?

Here! Have a rose that you can't smell. Isn't a big part of giving flowers the smelling of said flowers? Since you can't smell them anyway... can this picture be considered a Valentine's gift to all the Minty fans? Hmm... That sounds kind of lame, sorry. Sometimes I don't think before I write these captions. Or maybe I'm too lazy to erase the lame comment and write a better one? Does this rambling sound like a better comment? Well... I guess I'll just leave it alone. I can always expend that energy thinking up better comments for the next pictures. I'll do better next time.
