Hot Ride

More pictures to share! I don't know if taking these pictures is insane, or if taking these pictures maintains my sanity. But I like doing it, so I hope you enjoy them, too.

Finally! Every weekend this year was just too cold enough, or grey sky tempting rain enough, to prevent our bike riding hobby. It took until the start of JUNE until we got a "good day" to get out. Looks like this tree is trying to grab us. Maybe it wants to give us a hug? We missed you, too!

We skipped right from "too chilly" and way past that into "TOO HOT!!!" It was sooo hot that day! I know it's been a while, but after a short time we felt extra exhausted and maybe a little queasy, was this heat stroke? We chugged half the Powerade and decided to immediately head back home.

Fortunately there was a lot of shade on the path we chose. Got this picture for a friend, who shall remain anonymous.

Almost back home, the weather cooled down a little bit and we maybe could have stayed out longer, but we didn't want to push it. Saw this wrecked sign and wondered what might have happened to it.

You can see it's far away from the street, so what could have possibly hit it this hard to cause this kind of damage? Is it possible that visitors from another world could have done it? Alien theorists say... yes!

This picture is actually from the next day. It wasn't quite as hot, but still very hot, and we drank a whole glass of water before we left, so it was a lot better. This picture is from the spot we used to regularly see a giant swan a few years ago. We haven't seen the swan in a long time, and it looks like the waterway is totally overgrown with plants!

Looks like a little bit of a path to swim in, it's still possible that we are just missing the swan. Should we get some kind of drone with a camera to scout for it? I don't know anything about drones.

This spot has been dammed up with rocks, and it looks like that's prevented the spread of the plants. It's fun to think that kids were responsible for that, do you think it was some clever kids, or did adults decide to do that?

The way home seemed to be blocked?! Of course we went anyway, at least we could get pictures of this "construction", but there was nothing to see on the trail at all. At least until we had to make the turn home. Maybe past that there was some construction? Should we have kept going? Maybe next time.

Okay, not enough bike ride pictures to fill a whole post, so here's some regular random pics. There's a new Lego F.R.I.E.N.D.S. set and much like the characters on the show, you have to wonder how you can afford such a large apartment in Manhattan when you don't have a job.

Saw this other Lego set with a small arcade part, looks like a Dance Dance Revolution game and a... claw machine! Some people are impressed with the giant Lego sculptures but let's not forget the small things can be very cool, too.

The Millennium Falcon is still the most expensive Lego set, but not the one with the most bricks. This World Map has 11,695 pieces! It's huge! It's nice to have a big record that probably won't be broken, do you think they could make a set with more pieces somehow? How heavy is that? Do they expect you to hang that on a wall?

The new F.R.I.E.N.D.S. Apartment was built on display, but could I BE more disappointed by the quote above Joey's head? They emphasized the wrong word, it should be "How YOU doin'?" The set itself is packed with clever references to episodes, including the two reclining chairs that are linked to recline simultaneously.

Old-style new figures are neat. So if you have the original ones from 1985 you can display them with the most modern show figures and they all look good together! Nobody thought to keep figures in the packages back in 1985, why should we now?

Parked in the lot next to the now-closest KFC, and noticed this humble brag statement on the side of the building. Made the hard way, made by hand since 1940. If they've been doing it since 1940, do you think it's hard for them by now... still?

[Vigorously ringing the dinner triangle - ding ding ding ding!] COME AND GET IT!!!! [ding ding ding!] Pokemon cards spotted at a Target store, only a few weeks after crazy customers caused them to yank them off the shelves to avoid riots. Should we wait around to see what happens?

We laughed off the thought of getting some, "just because", and then we saw this set with a giant My Little Pokemon card. Could we pass on that Galarian Rapidash which looks like it jumped right out of a My Little Pony episode? Okay, they got us. At least if we buy this set we are guaranteed to get at least one good card.

Oh, snap! That's a Batmobile from the yet-to-be-released "Guy from Twilight" Batman movie! Yeah, yeah, I know he was also in Harry Potter. If you can find any car in this "regular" Hot Wheels package, it's only 1$! That might be the least-expensive property merchandise with the best value, since lots of people collect them.

We went to the grocery store to get some dinner on the way home and there was no one around to help us. We found it funny that they thought this sign was even doing anything. Like, why put up the sign if no one is around? Do they think they can leave, and then put up the sign? I don't get it.

My friend was oddly heartbroken at the lack of any kind of fried chicken at all. To make matters worse, there was obviously two management-looking people having a conversation right next to this display completely ignoring me. I did find an employee to ask about the chicken and his "sorry, no" response was sincere enough, so my friend quickly got over his sadness. Sometimes he can be a little sensitive.

Did you know the Dollar Store has a selection of movies, only $1! But would it be painful to see your movie valued at only a dollar? The "Girl-Ghostbusters" movie was pretty good, I thought. The Thor scenes alone are worth more than a dollar. "I wear the glasses to make me look smart, but I took out the lenses so I can see."

I thought it was funny that they had "White Cheese" in a solid black container, and then also saw the Beer Cheese next to it. You're in the Dollar Store!

Stopped in traffic, look over and see that there's like, a door, in the back of that truck's cab. Um... why? A little stair step below it, too. Looking closer, it looks like there is not a door on the side, either? What kind of crazy vehicle is this?

I've eaten inside this Smash Burger a few times now this year, but somehow it was remarkable that they asked if my order was for here or to go, and when I said "Here" they brought it out on a tray like "The Before Times". It's just another sign that things are returning to "normal". And, we got the little flag they put in the burger!

Came home one day to see a squirrel chewing on the BOTTOM of the corn outside. That little scamp! I think it must have realized if it chews away the bottom, the whole thing topples down and can be carried away? It jumped off before we could get a picture of the crime.

Like a lumberjack, it was getting both sides. Last week there was about 1/3rd of a corn thing left that disappeared suddenly. There's a small chance it was like, I'm not chewing the top where everybody else chews, gross! I'm going to get the fresh stuff on the bottom.
