A patchwork of pictures I comment on. Enjoy the fun comments.
POP!! Figures trying yet another variant of characters to squeeze money out of collectors. Should we think this is cool that they offer so much, or frustrated that you need yet another Batman to have a complete collection? Either way, this Patchwork Catwoman is basically what they already did in the Batman Returns movie, with the stitches all over her costume. Can that be considered a rip-off, if it's from Catwoman already? The ball of yarn is a nice touch, though.
Everybody remembers this iconic scene from the first Jurassic Park movie! They are both Transformers now! Check it out, he's even got the shaving cream can! Which makes less sense considering he's a robot. Do robots shave?
The modern Transformers movies feature tons of characters in the background that they never really drop names for in the actual movies. Of course that's what the toys are for. Is "Battletrap" a good name? I can't decide if it just sounds cool, or isn't very descriptive of a personality.
Is this picture left-over from Halloween? It's probably still good. Get it? Like, its expiration date.
Ooooh. Looks like this picture is back from when I voted. Don't worry, I'm not going to do politics. But I do have a fun story about Voting Day. When I walked into the kindergarten room, there was a guy leaving the booth and they asked if he wanted the "I Voted" sticker. He nearly declined, but my friend spoke up and said of course you want the sticker, plenty of places are giving away promos today if you show the sticker! On the news this morning, the anchors said Dunkin Donuts was giving away a FREE donut just to show the sticker! ALL of the people working there were like... What?! Free donuts! They had no idea! It was as if my friend just gave everyone a free donut, they were all so happy! We were just excited to share what we saw on the news this morning.
So here we were, after the voting, with our sticker. We didn't really want the donut, but after having shared the story, we decided... sure! There's a Dunkin Donuts not that much of a detour on the way home, we might as well get a donut so we can have a conclusion to the story.
We proudly walk into the Dunkin Donuts, and ask for our free donut, and flash the sticker. The cashier says.... "Um... what?" And we show the sticker, confused. And tell them the news guy said it was a promo... for Voting Day. "Huh, I haven't heard about that." She was alone in the store, nobody else to ask. So we were about to get our phone out to look up if it was "real" or not, I totally remembered hearing that on the news this morning. She stops us, and says... "Sure! I'm not going to waste anybody's time looking that up. Not for one silly donut." And she grabs us a free donut! Considering how most places do customer service, a massive "thanks" to Dunkin for such a positive experience. It was only after we left that we thought about how everybody else from the voting place was probably going to come later for free donuts, too. I'm sure they'll get 'em.
Speaking about customer service, Walmart with a back-stepping maneuver on that. Patronizing glass wall locked in front of the Lego sets. Can I buy some toys, mommy Walmart?
If you haven't seen the Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special, it's solid gold. Is it weird to see an Amazon Exclusive set at a Ross? How does Amazon work? Is that something they need to do?
You see the little girl from Poltergeist and think this is the phone scene where she says "They're here" but it's the sequel movie so this one is actually "They're back." And how can you make a figure of Totally Hair Barbie, and NOT have brush-able hair? Less than total.
Cool! This is the chicken from Moana, but a classic comedy rubber chicken version of that chicken! I don't think kids these days are going to "get" that reference, but I like it.
Another odd thing once you spot it. You might not even notice before I point it out. Hulk is regular-sized. He's not super huge, like he always is. Why is he the same size as everyone else here?
Um... Black Panther is blue. Is he Blue Panther now? Can we just call him Panther? I feel like I've taken this picture before, but it still bothers me, so I guess I can mention it again.
Hilarious. I hope this is not really Toxic Waste like the label says. Of course, if it is really toxic waste, then... at least they were honest about it.
Did you see the Internet thing where it de-constructs Saved By The Bell and points out that Zack was a super villain the whole time? Fun stuff. Even when the show was first on the air, and I was much younger, I could tell Mr. Belding was the best character. During that time, it was cliche to have the principle as a bad guy, but that dude was always positive and amazing.
I haven't seen any of the Terrifier movies, but I know they are really violent. And this cute version of the guy seems like it's... not right.
Ningguang and Kaedehara Kazuha from the game Genshin Impact. It's a cool game that's a lot of fun, but sorry those names are not doing it any favors. The title, characters, all the names are much more complicated than they should be.
Also from Genshin Impact. You didn't recognize the six-bladed windmills from Mondstadt? That's the icon on the loading screen, so if you play the game at all, you'd recognize it.
Chop! This is a display unit, the real one has the full sized cabinet under it. You can't actually buy this chopped version. Extra credit to the strong shelf, for holding this up!
There was a small series called Star Wars: Skeleton Crew, which was pretty cool. I don't want to hype it up too much, but I really enjoyed it. They didn't name the series after a character, and then make the show about a different character. Which is a pattern they had fallen into.
Mike Wazowski! Who needs to carve a pumpkin? Just paint 'em.
I feel like I've got too many Transformers pictures this time. Do I? Classic Optimus Prime rocking his laser hand axe from the movie. If you see the movie, don't worry too much, they realized their mistake and walk-it-back later in the TV series.
Hot Wheels Skateboards with mocks of Nintendo GameBoy and M.U.S.C.L.E. figures. Classics.
At last you can reveal yourselves to the other scientists. At last you can have your revenge.
Hahahahah! Aww, who would have thought that nobody would buy the Monster Pooper? It's on clearance after Halloween.
Now this one was cute, and should have been bought. It's one of those plushies you can flip inside-out. One side is a vampire, the other side is normal. Now that's a clever use of that um... technology... of flipping-plushies.
It had been a while since my friend checked the blood pressure thing. Still good. Good to know, right?
What? I've not yet seen the anime Demon Slayer, but it has a lot of merchandise, so it must be good. But um... I thought it was about feudal-era swords and demons. Does it have guns in it?
