I was trying to think of a claw machine reference for the opening... something abut grabbing pictures. But it's not really like that. Claw machines are random in their content, but there is some skill involved with which one you choose to go for. Anyway... have some random pictures I got while wandering around.
This Jets bear might not seem too out-of-place in a claw machine, except it was in Virginia. That's a little far away from New York, you think? I mean, I'm a Jets fan, so I'm not complaining about it. Maybe another Jets fan was stocking the machines far away from home.
These guys were playing the VR headset game in a place, and there was nobody else watching them. I feel like this requires friends who need to witness them acting like idiots in an empty space.
Mash taters! This is a throwback pic from Thanksgiving, we did not do any cooking but got to mix the butter in the potatoes. That counts as cooking, right?
Went to the comic store and saw some cool characters from My Hero Academia. Our favorite Mt. Lady has powers to grow really big, and has a super fun name, of course. The other one is Lady Nagant who has a sniper rifle for an arm. Nagant is a popular type of rifle, if the name didn't make any sense. Her episodes were pretty cool.
Here's the Korok with the backpack from the game The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. It's funny because when you see him in the game, he's basically exhausted and lost, and cries about it, so you have to drop whatever you were in the middle of and carry him over to his friend. How can you just walk past without helping? You can't!
So many characters in Genshin Impact! There is actually a lot more, you can "date" this poster by the ones missing. I don't see any of the characters from the Natlan or Fontaine areas, so this poster is actually quite old.
Elphabear! Don't get any water on her, she might melt! I did not see the Wicked movie yet, but I hear they explain that. Do they?
What is this? Some kind of cat plushie with Minty's exact colors! I don't have a unicorn horn but it would probably look like that if I did.
I got a chance to play the latest Call of Duty game, Black Ops 6, at a friend's house. A few years ago, they changed the game to violently shake the screen whenever you shot the gun, like a bad action movie. I don't like it when movies do that, and that un-removable feature made the game un-playable for me. So I wanted to try the game to see if they removed it. Huzzah! It seemed like it might have still been a little bit there, but not as bad as I remembered. But... the new terrible news is that they changed the way you PAY for the game. In the past, you bought the game for $60, and required an XBox Live yearly thing to play online, for another $60. Well, now the game is free! But you have to pay $20 per month for the service. So it winds up being more expensive in the long run. So while it seems like I could play again, I haven't tried to figure out the new service thing yet. Crazy to think I want to play a game but am blocked by some sort of complicated wall I don't understand. Okay, that's enough "old pony" for today.
Ususally I order the big steak at Texas Roadhouse, and split the meal to take home half of it. This time I ate the whole steak, but the next day, the extra potato and rolls still made for a solid lunch, even without the steak part of the leftovers.
Cooloest Cornhole boards ever! Covered in Pokemon cards and coated-over to be smooth. I choose you!
We all have "The Internet" but back in the past, magazines did famous Swimsuit Issues to lure people in with risque content. A thing that comic books cheekily copied. So it was fun to see a new one in the comic store. This is actually from a video game series, Shantae.
Another thing comic books do is cross-overs. Here's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Masters of the Universe! Whoa, that's a lot of words.
Sectaurs is an action figure line from the 80's that had a brief but memorable moment. Based on bugs, of course. I'm not entirely sure what the story was, I just remember the cool bugs. Maybe I could benefit from reading the comics.
I had to flip through to see if my friend's favorite was in there. See that giant tarantula that guy is riding? The action figure was actually a glove you wear, for moving the spider's legs, and one finger moved the jaws open and closed. So much fun, that was.
Disney Lorcana cards never go on sale, I think this was on Black Friday weekend. Even though this is the set that included the Chip & Dale Rescue Rangers characters, I passed on buying any. And since I passed on the "sale", I could not buy them in the future. Otherwise, I might as well have gotten them back then. Does that logic make any sense?
A friend of ours recently got a new car, and she described the color as "scarlet" so of course we immediately nicknamed it The Scarlet Witch. So we took this picture on the wall outside of the comic store and sent it to her.
Yay! Thanksgiving! I guess I'm not sorting or posting my pictures as well as I should be. You can have a great turkey diner on some other night, too.
In my friend's backyard, there's an old boat that's been abandoned for soooo long, that it has trees growing inside it! That means leaves have fallen into it, turned into dirt, tree seeds have taken root, and grown up for a while. Nature, right?
Here's a further-away picture of the boat. The trees did not grow through the boat from under it, but inside it. I wonder if there will come a point in which the whole thing tips over.
Flowers! I forgot what type of flowers these are, and realized it's not easy to search for that type of information. You basically need someone to tell you. Is that cool? I mean, for the person who knows about flowers, it's cool.
This antique lamp in the thrift shop has a whopping $375 price on it, which seems super high for a thrift shop, but it is a super cool looking lamp, so we can't blame them.
Neat little designs on these plates. Again, $14 seems a little high for a thrift shop.
With all the anti-smoking rules, and "vaping" machines not needing them, are match books becoming a thing of the past? Looks like somebody's whole collection wound up in the thrift shop. That's a lot of traveling summed-up in such a small space.
You know if you need old photos on the internet, you can search for them. This is like the real-life version of that. These were probably "someone's" photos, but now they are just um... old photos. Did that make any sense?
If my friend had to pick out one song as his "favorite," he might pick Hotel California. Seeing an old room key tag for it is awesome, but a little creepy. Because of course, you can check out any time you like, but you can never leave.
This didn't need a cat on the picture, but it adds to it. We get paper straws in New Jersey to suck it up with.
Thanksgiving Smurfs in Indigenous Peoples outfits. I was going to make a joke about possible cultural Smurfpropriation, but I don't like doing politics here. Just enjoy some Smurfs.
This moment was on Game of Thrones when the show was red-hot. This is the scene where Arya Stark is secretly learning how to sword fight and the cool instructor guy tells her there's only one god, Death, and there is only one thing we say to Death... "Not today." It was a cool moment, but now... it's on sale.
Um... which one should I be scared of most? I think the math is actually multiplied here, I should be exponentially scared right now.
It still makes me smile to see the late, great Macho Man Randy Savage selling Slim Jims. I'm glad they stuck with it. Oooooh Yeah!
