Biking Toward Adventure

Ah, summer bike rides... so nice. Feels good to be out in the fresh air and getting some physical activities going on. Of course there's always some stuff to take pictures of, too!

Why is there a big "X" on the sidewalk? Is there treasure here? Maybe this is an Amazon Drone landing spot test? Maybe there are X's all over the place and from the satellite view you can play connect-the-dots? Oh, what a great movie idea! Let's grab a map and plan this out?

Ride around and see what's interesting? Click one the "Read more" below!

He was Mayor for only 2 years but I guess he built this little league baseball park, so give that guy an immortal plaque! Also, he was "The Rock" before Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson hehe.

History lesson time! This kiddies, is a Pay Phone. Look there's one left outside of a museum!

We were pretty sure the camera wouldn't capture the effect, but there were little seed wisps floating all around here it was quite magical-looking.

Metal spoon on the ground, please tell us your story. This will no doubt be found later by some pony with a metal detector who would of liked to have found something more valuable.

Right off the sidewalk, a surprise stairway and trail! Is that a future adventure down there?

A little bit down the sidewalk we spot the sign for the trail. "Private" park? There goes the adventure...

No pony here at the giant Bristol Meyers Squibb complex on the weekend. Actually this whole thing looked quite abandoned and zombie-apocalypse'd.

There were so many deer around here! About 5 of them scattered at one point there's one in the distance. Of course we're not sneaky or quick enough to get a closer picture.

BMS had a whole day care building! Again looking pretty run down. At one point this must have been a great place to work.

No ponies anywhere it was so quiet and peaceful. There was probably some security guard watching us on camera the whole time? Was he thinking "holy cow that's MINTY! OMG Minty is HERE taking pictures!" Hahaha

All these big empty buildings around here and they have to build NEW buildings? Anyway, who doesn't like a big 'ole pile of dirt?

Spotted this super-flower with like a zillion tiny flowers. Glad the picture came out okay.

We got a little lost and wound up going the wrong direction. We thought that might be Route 1 over there but it turns out it wasn't. Not quite sure where we were here.

Stopped for some beverage under the shade here. We had been going for a while and thought if we needed to re-trace our steps to get back home we should take a picture of a sign.

After taking a massive 40 minute loop to back where we started, we rode straight over to where "the cars" go to get to Route 1. Looks like there's a sidewalk to use!

Here's Route 1! If you don't live in New Jersey, this is the type of road to think of as New Jersey-ish.

It's like a typical 55MPH (that everypony else goes like 75 ugh) highway from everywhere else but there are shops on the sides. Good luck merging in once you are done shopping!

Also, note the concrete "Jersey Wall" in the middle so no left turns ever. You gotta drive like 6 miles to the jug-handle loop-around to turn around.

Is there a plus-side to this road? I guess it's pretty long and if you want to get someplace far away it's relatively fast? The other side of this overpass doesn't have a sidewalk so no need for the safety cage over there.

Down this ramp and we'll be riding down Route 1! Though there's a secret Bike Trail entrance to the side? Never been down there! As a matter of fact, down there we stumbled across a State Park, so I'll leave this with a "to be continued!"
