Another batch of pictures from the return trip down the Delaware & Raritan Canal State Park trail. We start at the dam-thing we decided to turn around at. Hehe dam-thing.
What is this thing and why am I standing on it! Get me off of here before the wind blows me into the canal! Also, check out the neat water texture?
Click on the "Read more" below!
The canal widened a lot in front of this thing.
All sorts of stuff growing right in the middle of the water down there. Go nature!
Minty on the Moon! Just kidding there was a rock field next to the thing.
Here's the history lesson to explain the thing we were at and how otherwise the river would go it's own way.
Here's where we turned around. It looks like if one side gets too high the water would spill over into the other side here?
One more shot of the thing. Check out those crazy ponies who went to the middle to fish!
Ooooh the reflections in the water were nice and crisp!
Back at the entrance we walked along the aqueduct.
I guess you can't call this a lake it's just a wide part of the river. We don't know if there's a term for that?
Trail on the other side! Later we found out that way leads over to Princeton, but that's an adventure for another day!
Pretty flowers of course we'll stop for a picture.
This giant fern looked a bit pre-historic. Yikes any raptors around here?
Hehe... busted! We saw the dad catch the fish and give it to his son to get pictures of it. Still it was a cute moment.
Another history plaque. Scudders. Does anypony really stop to read these? I guess WE do, so yeah.
There was A LOT more geese over here a second ago like somepony just got done feeding them. Not quick enough to get that picture but lots of geese anyway.
