On the way to the Westfield Garden State Plaza Mall, we got a little lost. Thanks to the Tom Tom GPS directing us to "exit left" which was actually on the right. Blowing past the exit and finding the nearby Paramus Park Mall instead. Since we were there, lets take a look around for a minute. There's also some extra non-mall pictures.
Stew Leonard's! I remembered hearing somewhere they were opening one of these further south, and here it is! On the end of the mall here. Oh yeah are we going to run around that place and get some pictures!
How do they get these things? If you don't know, Stew Leonard's is a "local" grocery store that sources a lot of their stuff from their own farms. In the stores they have giant animatronic displays that sing and stuff. We pressed this button but nothing happened. What a bummer.
Stew's Farm Fresh Five milk carton band was playing fine. There was a clock saying how long you need to wait to catch the next show. Am I back in Disney World? How is this a grocery store?!
The Avocado Girls were singing lyrics to the tune of La Cucaracha about avocados. We forgot what the song was but it was easy enough to look it up online if you want, too.
It gave us a smile to see they still have a banana girl to sing the banana song. It's been a while, but we always had to push that button when we passed by it in their other store. I know it was only a few years ago, but it still gave us a nice childish feeling. Is that odd?
Country Jamboree? Is that anything like the Country Bear Jamboree from Disney World? Play "Blood on the Saddle!"
We were trying to get to the mall with the Toys R Us before noon, to have a better chance at parking, which we assumed would be a nightmare that time of year. Also thought we'd grab lunch when we got there. But Stew Leonard's has a favorite buffet, and we almost ate there instead. Except they did not have "regular" crispy wings, only wings with like 6 different sauces. And NO mac n cheese at all! So our favorites were not there anyway.
Well it's already 12:30 and we still have to get to the other mall. The longer it takes the worse parking would be. Still snapped a pic of the Paramus Park Mall directory to check later if there was anything we rushed past.
After a small amount of agonizing time sharking the parking lot, we remembered the "trick" of circling the entire mall. Sure enough there was spots around "back" near the movie theatre. It was a much longer walk to the mall but I'll trade that easily for less parking stress. Also, they have a Shake Shack at this mall, which was our plan all along. Bonus points for the Xmas Sugar Cookie flavored shake.
We couldn't decide if this Chip 'n' Dale "Dabbing" shirt was awesome or the-worst-ever, kind of wanted it anyway but we passed.
Did we ever see one of these new Dunkin' stores yet that did not include the word "Donuts"? The balloon arch makes it seem like it's new or something.
I guess we're close enough to Broadway to get show tie-ins. I wonder if there are 16 Handles frozen yogurt places farther away that still have Wicked flavors. Strawberry Vanilla/Green Apple Twist sounded super amazing but we just had a big lunch complete with a shake, so maybe next time.
Whoa. Mind Blown. You know how you go into a Barnes and Noble, or some other book store, to browse books, and then just look them up and order them online on Amazon? Well it looks like you can skip some steps now! I didn't check but they've got to be the same prices as online, right?
This picture might not show it too clearly, but the digital code boxes are adorable! Look at this tiny thing next to a real game case. It's cute, but what's the point? Not like you need it to hold anything once you enter the code and download the game.
We are being much more careful with buying collectibles these days, but we had to get this Katamari Damacy special edition with this Prince/Katamari plushie. It came with a digital download for the Switch game which we fortunately did not get yet, and wanted. The Katamari ball has magnets on it, so things will really stick to it!
Perfect little extra Xmas gift for our friend, who shall remain anonymous.
Since the new Call of Duty game, Modern Warfare, came out, the previous Black Ops 4 game is now letting you trade in-game-earned currency for DLC you previously had to pay real-world dollars for. Cool! We can't play the new MW due to the horrible screen-shaking effects so we are still playing BO4.
It's been a while since we've seen Turbo but there are a few smaller, younger squirrels around. They are not as vigilant about getting treats but sometimes they come over to cheer us up.
Is this some kind of irony? Or like, a prophecy? That poop-shaped chocolate will one day become actual poop. Gross. or Funny? What poops out blue/white swirls? Hopefully not you, later.
Like, zoiks, man! Looks like the Gravedigger was really Old Man Jenkins all along! If we crush 20 cars, can we get a Scooby Snack?
