I'm back! Not entirely unexpected, since we got some warning in advance, but the blogspot interface updated itself beyond the reach of our ancient Windows XP computer. Several years ago, we would occasionally use the public library's computers to post, but... thanks to Covid shutting down the libraries, we couldn't even do that. Sooo.. okay let's buy us a laptop. Now we've officially spent money on this hobby. And I guess we now we have a laptop, to do other "laptop" stuff on. I'll get a picture of the new toy later, for now here's just another bunch of random pictures of stuff we saw and wanted to share. This still counts as a trial to see if this new laptop works. Pictures are a few weeks old but still fun.
D&D Properties Maintenance? Cool! Are they the ones that set up the trap doors and feed the giant spiders in the dungeon? I'm having trouble with my gelatinous cubes leaving streaks on the floors.
One thing the Covid Era has going for it is the celebrity laptop cameras and the fun things in the background to check out. Orlando Bloom has shelves full of LEGO! How cool is that? He's a famous enthusiast, he once brought his Lord of The Rings minifig on The Tonight Show and removed the bottom part and told Jimmy Fallon it was a "Leg-less Lego Legolas".
Y'know, it's a good idea to look at your tires every once-in-a-while. Because if you see them looking like THIS, you should have replaced them a while ago. This is about as bad as they can get, with the silver bits worn through. The other front tire was not this bad, but still needed changing.
Ugh tires are not cheap, but you gotta replace them, so what are you going to do? Hmm.. You think duck tape would work? It's a nice feeling having new tires though.
Magical multiplying squirrels. It seems like I'll see one of them, and by the time I get a treat out, another has run over from far away to join in on the treats. I think I have to start buying more treats, they are going through them quickly.
Do we all know what "AF" is short for? This patch is funny because maybe an unsuspecting parent would get it for their kid and not know it's got like, sort-of swear words involved.
This is from Animal Crossing. There are people who are hooked on the Stalk Market turnip prices, and if you see someone wearing this shirt, it's them.
Target got a new section of toys with merchandise from the Star Wars Galaxy's Edge part of the Disney Theme Parks! Here are some figure-sized Droids, in similar hexagon boxes that you would get the bigger ones in from the Droid Depot.
Earlier I posted pictures of the boxes of Star Trek: Customizable Card Game booster boxes I found at a Big Lots. Four boxes opened, and finally got the Ultra Rare First Officer Spock! Just so you know, it's possble to buy a ton of boxes and none are guaranteed to have this particular card. I spread out a bunch of other cool cards to fill up the photo. I wonder what Mirror Universe Minty is like?
The other week when we got our tires changed, the mechanic noticed our rear tire had this shifted-belt thing going on. Can you see the tire dips in a couple of places? This makes the tire wobble or something, and at the time, the guy was just like: meh, you'll need that changed. But we looked it up online and apparently if this tire blows it could shred to pieces or something super dangerous and now we were panicking to get this changed. It was awful to wait a few days, but really, how long was the tire like this before we were told?
Whew! Three tires in one week! The fourth tire was still pretty good so no need to spend even more money just because. We totally asked if they had a buy 3 get the 4th free policy and they said... mmmm no.
They lifted the indoor dining ban in New Jersey, with like %25 capacity or something, but a lot of places are still shy to set up their seats again, like this Burger King.
Grab two booster packs and play Magic: The Gathering! What a neat idea! Except when I got these to the register, they were over $5 each, and aren't Starter Decks like $10 anyway? Did I just buy a random Starter Deck?
Gotta get a picture of this to bust Lego for not using the correct name "Bullet Bill" on this Mario package. I guess Lego is worried about it's official/unofficial ban on military themes and used the word "Boomer" instead. Is it ironic or just fitting that they included a "Shy"Guy in this set?
Thanks for cheering us up little guy. We have the corn thing on the pole over there, but they jump right off of it to get some Honey Teddy Grahams instead.
Oh, wow look at those original drawings of The Simpsons on those shoes! Aye Caramba! That's the very definition of the term "old school" right? They might as well be cave paintings.
Lego sells an amazing Diagon Alley except it's $400! That's like buying four $100 sets all at once! Yikes! Seriously what kid is going to get this? Are kids different these days that they have this type of money to spend? Do parents really give gifts this expensive? When I was a filly... Haha okay I'll stop. I'll point out that there are Lego versions of the wand boxes you get at the Universal Studios theme park, and the little Lego wands fit in them. Cool! But does that make this a set of the theme park instead?
If you never thought of Lego as art, they start making actual Lego ART. That's an Andy Warhol painting. Period. Not a toy, it's art. Also, be warned, that Beetles set will only get you one of them, you'll need to buy four of them to do the whole band at once.
Lego has been pushing this "Brickheads" line as a grab for the POP! Figure market for a while now. If there was one that might get us right now, it's this Baby Yoda set...
Here's the Lego Nintendo Entertainment System set all put together in the display cabinet. Seeing these impressive sets in the store really does seem... impressive.
K.K. Slider is the epic musician from Animal Crossing who gives away his music for free. Which we thought was very funny after we paid money for this pin. I'm sure if K.K. Slider had anything to say about it, this pin would have been free, too.
Who else put off real-world chores to water flowers on their Animal Crossing island? We sent this picture to several people who each said "Yep! That's me!" And yes, that's me, too.
Oh, that's harsh! Are they really suggesting you poison your coworkers? That's edgy to find this in an actual Disney Store. Hey, don't steal food from the fridge!
I have to wonder if America will adopt the sick people wearing face masks thing, after the Covid era has passed. Because we should have been doing that for a long long time already. Or will mask displays at stores just vanish with an attitude of "...FREEDOM!" Do you want to risk buying a bunch of these as collectibles? Who really wants to "remember" 2020?
