Yikes these pictures are from a while ago. I seem to always have a group of pictures from bike rides that I wind up posting well after the weather has become much too chilly to actually ride anymore. I have to say, it's nice for me to look at these and remember the Summer warmth, do you get a similar feeling?
This is the new vacations idea for the horrible year of 2020 lockdowns. Get one of these silver bullet camper things and drive around. This one is parked in Middle of Nowhere, New Jersey. But I guess it doesn't really matter where you park it as long as you are on vacation and not home.
Happy 4th of July! We took this picture in September.
A couple of things going on here. First of all, Stumpy's Hatchet House? Throw axes? Sounds cool, but also odd. And second; who put this sign here? It's behind the pole. Like, the worst place you could put it. We're stopped right next to it and still can't see the whole thing. Fail!
We rode the bicycle down onto the D&R Canal Trail from a further-down connection point and watched several people ride past all wearing masks. So that's what to expect. It was kinda hot out that day so we chose to turn back instead of tough it out with a mask on.
When we turned around, saw this creepy pile of bones on the ground. That's the sign. I go no further!
This tree has been chopped! How odd to chop up the tree and not have any kind of thing ready to haul away the wooden stumps.
Glanced over on a nearby tree to see this endangered species sign. It's past July 31st, so we would be fine screaming across this field, if we wanted to.
Giant Concrete Wall! Who's got a ball to bounce off of that? Maybe we could set up some kind of projector on top of the car for a simulated Drive-In Theater experience.
Riding the bike past this wall as it practically yelled "this would make for a cool picture!" at us.
This picture doesn't look as impressive as this field did in reality. imagine copy-pasting this same picture three of four times in each direction. Does my camera have a panoramic setting I don't know about?
How many Constructicons can you spot in this picture? Bonus points for each one you can name.
Laughed in my head when I saw this and wanted to scream "I HAVE THE POWER!!!!" Like He-Man.
A hidden trail emerged us into a neighborhood with this super-green algae river. Those always look cool.
On the one hand, It's "cool" (pun intended?) that the local police would put up this friendly reminder. But... I can see there is a cooler underneath the sign. It would also be "cool" if they were giving out water, but instead there's a giant lock on that cooler. Good thing we are smart enough to always bring along a beverage on our bike rides.
Walked around Princeton one lazy Sunday afternoon. This Church had a rope getup, you write a prayer on a ribbon and tie it in there. Who knew the church had it's own inter-net?
Sad to see the Panera Bread closed! Not that we ate there; actually... when we did eat there, it was over-priced and small-portion'd. So not surprised really, it was a terrible restaurant. But... we did always stop in to use the bathroom, so we'll for sure miss that.
This side street had the outdoor eating area set up. Smokey car exhaust flavor is included for free!
Hmm... don't recall seeing this overgrown shady seating area before. There's always new things to discover. Maybe we've just seen it before but not with all the vines all over it.
When we walked back to our car we had parked in the nearby neighborhood, because we forgot to bring coins for the parking meters, we passed this marker. As we were taking this picture, a couple was walking past nearby and the guy yelled that's where the name changes! Cool! We shouted back, but we really don't know from what? Is the other side here not Princeton?
Driving around the back of this shopping center, scouting around for the new Shake Shack they built around here somewhere, we found this lake island thing, so we had to get a picture of it. The road leading to Shake Shack is right behind us.
