Thanks for Pictures

Happy Thanksgiving! Enjoy feasting on some fun pictures? Wow that sounds lame. Sorry. Um, anyway... During a record-breaking-ly warm week in November, we went for a very nice bike ride! So of course we gotta get some cool Fall season pictures to share.

Ooooooh the pretty colors! Brace yourself there's going to be a lot of pretty-colors pictures today. So you might want to pace yourself.

Red! What if leaves were red all the time, and during the Fall they turned green. Then we'd all be excited to see them green instead. Woah!

Depending on where you live, the leaves change colors at different times. Further north and all the leaves have fallen already, but further south and there's still a bunch of greens left.

The infamous stairway down to the forest we have not yet gone into because we're still not sure if this is some kind of private land or not. Maybe once all the leaves are gone, we'll be able to see clear through this and won't need to go in.

This is a new sign we noticed right away. Is that a Tron light cycle? And why does the person in the car have the hair blowing back in the wind?  I'll point out that this sign is totally unnecessary since there is a fully paved wide sidewalk, designated as a bike path, here anyway.

Due to the geometry of the tilt of the Earth's axis and the planetary orbit, the Sun is lower in the sky this time of year. So it's a lot more "in your face" while riding around.

See those specks on the trail? Those are little grasshoppers or locusts or some kind of bugs. We were doing our best to avoid them but when we get close, they all jump randomly. They were doing this for a long distance down this part, and a few of them landed on my friend's legs. He tried not to "freak out" but for a few minutes it was an odd mix of funny terror.

Looks like they planted some new trees over here. Later on, we can enjoy the newly-shaded area.

It was cool that we got a warm day to enjoy the fall colors. There's nothing really stopping us from riding the bike on a cold day, I guess. Except maybe that's just very uncomfortable and stuff.

Some pretty yellow leaves we passed next to. I could have taken more pictures, but how much of this do you need to see? Is this boring yet? Okay I'll add some trivia: A friend called this "Saint Martin's Summer" which is a random period of time in the fall when it gets warm again.

Here's a picture of trees with a big 'ole pile of leaves beneath them. Leaves not yet blown away by the wind. There was a bunch of this, too.

It was around this point that I sort of got a little bored with taking pictures. Yeah each section is very pretty but how about we just enjoy it without having to get a picture of everything?

With the low-sun glare in the picture, you might not be able to see it as well, but look close and you'll notice the hundreds or thousands of geese in that field over there! Hold still, I'm going to count you!

Even though we were trying to enjoy the colors without worrying about pictures, we still felt like some of them were still beautiful enough to require pictures to share.

There's a deer in that big empty field. It was looking at us and we waved a "hello" to it, and it flicked it's tail as if it was waving back! It was a very sweet moment, my friend is a sucker for that kind of thing.

It was starting to get a little dark out so we were heading back home. Here's another red-red tree that looked cool. Er.... hot? That doesn't sound right either.

You could still see some green leaves up there. Those are like the leaves that don't want to believe it's Fall yet. They are probably telling the yellow leaves it's all a conspiracy.

It's a big "V" of geese flying over there! Do you think there is a science reason they fly like that, or, for some unknown reason, are they just telling everyone who can see... which direction they are going? This way, everybody!

A few emergency vehicles blew past us, and the nearby shopping center looked like some kind of thing was going on.

This car looked totally smashed! I wonder what happened. Sorry to mess up all the pretty pictures with this horrible scene, but I guess we saw it, so here's some pictures to share. Hope everyone is okay around here.

I didn't feel good ending the post on such an upsetting scene, so I included a picture of this cute squirrel who ran super high up into this tree to eat its treat. It was trying to avoid another squirrel. I can't throw another treat up there, silly. You'll have to come down to get another one!

Okay we had one more nature picture. This mushroom looked like a full-on Whopper bun! Do I look like Minty Smurf standing next to it?
