The Shot

It's time to shoot some more pictures! Maybe...  some special shot? These pictures were taken a few weeks ago, when the limits imposed on the Covid Vaccine shots were finally lowered enough to get this little pony into an appointment. There's other random pics here, too.

We tried to use the web site to schedule an appointment, but that gave us trouble so we wound up calling a hotline which took a few minutes but was probably just as easy. I kind of feel like I need to explain how amazing the whole vaccine thing is, only because it's been made into a "political topic" and now it feels kind of awkward that I need to mention it. I'll just say I was excited to be getting it, and look forward to the return of the world the way it was.

The CVS was pretty busy, but overall the wait was not too long. They had dedicated a sizable area in the middle of the store for this mess, which was a little impressive on it's own.

Can you believe I asked for this... shot? My friend got the obligatory "selfie" getting shot, but this blog is somewhat anonymous so we won't post that particular picture. They were going rather quickly, but were happy to let me pose with the tiny bottle of miracles here.

They had seats with timers above them so they could make sure you wait around for any side effects. Like an awesome school band member, we got First Chair! Fifteen minutes fly by these days with phones and games and internet and all,... it's over already?

I know it's for a graduation thing, but this hippo just says 2021 and appears to be doing a happy dance, which is how we felt right now. There's going to be an agonizing wait for the next three weeks until we get "The 2nd" shot, an then another two weeks after that before they say we are technically fully rev'd up. But it's nice to be able to see some light at the end of the tunnel.

Okay back to regular fun pictures! We saw the title of this book and immediately thought... that poor monster!

Wondering what the lesson of the book is about we open it up to a horrible page about... the monster being nice? And still don't touch it? Who here is the real monster?

Don't look it in the eye??!! Is this book promoting racism against monsters? Am I being too sensitive here? In it's defense, the book's final page mentions something about the monster wanting to eat you, but I'm not sure if that's the message this book is sending.

There is an actual car named Road Runner which is perfect for the Looney Tunes tie-in. I like how they posed Wile E. Coyote in front of the car, with a pathetic "Help!" sign like he's about to be run over! Fun trivia fact: In the real world, coyotes can out-run the roadrunner birds, but not the cars, of course.

Somebody left a water dish out for this parking lot goose! It was super chillax-ing.

My Little Pony character based on the board game Twister? Cool! Although the name Right Hoof Red sounds neat, it points out the awkward question, um... front hoof or rear hoof? You would need that to play the game with ponies who have two hooves on each side.

Oh snap! Who thought it was a good idea to name a game "NEW Pokemon Snap? If they EVER come out with another Pokemon Snap game, this will still forever be the "New" one? It's similar to when people say "Greatest of ALL TIME!" like, um... "all of time" hasn't happened yet, you don't know that will be the greatest yet! Anyway... here's a QR code you can scan for extra stuff if you want.

What if you have a friend named Catherine or something else you can abbreviate to "Cat"? Then.. you CAN text your Cat!

Why are they still making merchandise out of the horrible genocidal Grogu moments on that one episode of The Mandalorian? If you need me to remind you, they were transporting a frog lady and her un-fertilized eggs, the last eggs of her entire species, to her husband on another planet. They thought it would be "cute" or "funny" to have Baby Grogu sneakily snack(!) on them throughout the journey, but the audience was shocked instead by the casual murder implications every time he gulped one down.

We were out of chives, which we usually get at the dollar store, because... why not? It's only a dollar. Well we were in a hurry so we thought we'd just pick them up at the Target while we were there. How much more can they be? Over $5! I'm pretty sure that's only 1 dollar at the dollar store, how is this 5 times as much? You can see the math there says a pound of it is... $383?!!

That's not all! The "organic" chives were a lot more expensive, nearly A THOUSAND dollars per pound! How do we get in on this chives racquet? Someone is seriously making a lot of money selling chives, and that could be me!

Let's not all panic and buy stock in chives, they were still right there at the Dollar Store in a simple $1 jar, that was also LARGER than the $5 jar in Target. The math says this is a much lower $45 per pound, which honestly... still sounds like a lot.

I don't know if you can see it in this picture, but the sun streaks coming out of those clouds were pretty cool that day. I would prefer to take nature pictures without like, the street lights and traffic or whatever, and I did try to take another picture a few minutes later when we got home and parked but the clouds had already covered up the streaks.

Anybody else notice that the rear section of the new Toyota Prius cars looks like big kissy lips? What is the purpose of that section anyway? It's like a mini tinted window, below the regular rear window? Did they know it looks like lips? And they outlined it in the red lights on purpose?

Lots of car pictures this time, huh? Another nature picture taken at a stop light, this one might be less creepy due to our new phone camera's great night-time filters. Those clouds on the horizon were DARK! And you have to say in a creepy voice "Looks like it's gunna rain..."

We got some M&Ms on clearance for Easter a while ago, and randomly put some in our ice cream. And... boom. It's awesome. It seems so obvious now, but this might just replace sprinkles as the go-to ice cream topping.

Got a laugh out of the Love Live Yoga sticker there. There is an anime show/video game about a group of high school girls who form a singing group to compete in the Love Live idol competition. We had already seen the place for Love Live Yoga and made the fun connection, but to see this sticker on this huge truck was pretty funny, right next to some Trump stickers, too? All sorts of contrast.

Saw this adorable Luna Lovegood on a wallet and had to get a picture to share. I know the little quote on it was meant to be uplifting, but it kind of made my friend sad a little too. Like, maybe it doesn't refer to the actual thing you lost, but something else that will replace the thing? Having never read the books, and I don't remember this line from the movie, I don't know exactly what she is talking about.

That character is Koga, from the anime Inuyasha. It was a little shocking seeing such a non-main character get some merchandise exposure. Oh, he's a cool important recurring character on the show, it's just that there are so many more characters, and you hardly see any besides the main two or three characters getting any merchandise.

Soon the "Covid Era" will be over, but until then, we have to wait to get into a store in the mall sometimes, as the capacity limits are still in effect. Why not get a picture of the cute anime girl helping you pass the minutes? I bet Hot Topic could make their own store mascot anime characters and somehow those would become super popular. Your welcome, Hot Topic; another million dollar idea from Minty!
