Allentown NJ

After we visited the awesome local comic shop Tinkerbeee's, we took a stroll around the village of Allentown.

It's a Town and a Village? Allen is a confused guy who couldn't make up his mind. They might need to update their sign with more modern-looking car icons.

Check me out, checkin' you out; Checkin' me out checkin' you out... I'm checkin' you out.

Old gravel road leading down to some antique-looking shops. Not sure if they sold antiques, it's the shops themselves that looked antique.

This building by the lake looked super old. My friend saw the name as The One-Eyed Turtle and remembered from his youth catching/releasing a giant snapping turtle that only had one good eye. Nice to see that turtle opened up a business.

Not sure at all what this thing is. Gotta just be art of some kind, right?

Another big ole' rusty-metal thing. That one looks like it did do something but it might be just art now, too.

This is obviously art but it's still useful. I sat on it fine but my friend didn't want to risk it, there was already a few boards missing.

Giant old shack. It was a little rainy this day which was adding a nice effect to the old-ness.

Aww! Family down there feeding the ducks. That's was people do in these quaint little towns. Check 'em out; not one of them has a phone out. Nice.

Another old rusty overgrown thing looking awesome.

Guy over there fishing in the rain under the bridge. Too far away to ask him if he caught anything good.

Saw this bamboo forest but after we got this picture thought; why am I glowing? Is this magical bamboo?

Still not sure if these were antique stores of some kind. It was late Sunday afternoon and we didn't really have time to wander into any of these places.

Psychic Shop? Am I in an episode of Supernatural? This place looks like it's totally legit on the bottom of this hill off of a gravel road.

Nice lake over there. You can see the grey sky it was drizzly but not too bad.
