Hightstown Halloween 2018

Upon recommendation, My friend took his girls over to nearby Hightstown to roam around and get some Halloween fun. By "girls" I mean Minty and Lucille. Do you have to ask who Lucille is? That's part of the costume!

It's amazing how much cheer a leather jacket and a baseball bat wrapped in barbed wire can generate. We couldn't go more than a few minutes without somepony yelling "NEGAN!" happily. It was really quite uplifting.

No tricks, we got picture treats! Click on the "Read more" below!

Before we left, we had our pal Turbo trick or treat our apartment. So right away we knew this was going to be a fun night.

For those ponies that don't know. Lucille is the name given to the weapon used by the character Negan on The Walking Dead. The bat itself is very much a character on the show, too. The Negan costume is basically just a leather jacket, Lucille, and a ton of swagger. Judging by the amazing reactions we got all night, they are super popular characters on a popular show.

Us and Lucille wandering around the main street next to the bridge here. The main street was probably the most fun because kids would yell "NEGAN!" out of the car windows as they drove by.

Off of the main street was this funny laundrymat place. It's always nice to see fun business names like "Wayne's Wash World." This might not count as a Halloween thing but it was funny so we got the picture.

Finally got our way over to the big street with all the big houses... and an unexpectedly massive amount of people! We were told this place was something to check out, but had no idea it would be like Disneyland on a holiday.

This big house has gargoyles on the roof all year round. It was cool seeing it on Halloween. Negan would say "Hot Diggity Dog! This place is magnificent!"

Being night time and all, it was pretty dark out so taking pictures down the street of the crowds was very difficult with our camera. Trump would tweet "sad." We did try to take a bunch of pictures but not many of them came out well.

A lot of the houses were really dressed up in costumes of their own. Most everyplace had music playing so that added a lot to the fun mood.

These giant dinosaur costumes really stood out in the crowd and had to frequently stop for photo ops. It was really too dark for us to even think of asking people for photos.

Not sure if you can tell how big these old gothic style houses are. Even on a regular day it would be nice to walk around here and check out all of the big houses.

There were at least two houses that had live bands on the porches. This band was rocking out Werewolves of London. Aw-woooo!

This house had a kind of display band set up in a cage outside.

The police not only blocked off the street, but also handed out glow circles to all of the kids. Also, note the Stormtrooper on the right. Because it's not a good Halloween until you've seen a Stormtrooper.

That sign is a lyric from one of my friend's favorite songs: Hotel California. Oddly, they were NOT playing that song outside this house at all. Sorry that the only picture that came out with the sign readable does not show the rest of the windows with the creepy hands clawing from inside. Because all the windows had it going on.

Here's the big monument at the fork in the street. We made a few laps around the neighborhood and town and had a lot of fun. Only after a few days later did we wonder why so many young kids knew who Negan was. Because that's really not the type of show young kids should watch.
