May The 4th Grade Math Be With You

Time for more pictures of Minty! And other fun stuff.

One of the fun highlights of the new "Disney" Star Wars movies was the way Kylo Ren would throw a fit of rage and destroy the room he was in. So I got a laugh out of this 4th Grade Math book and the mental image of him going "FRACTIONS!? AAAARRRGGGHHH!" And slashing up a desk with his lightsaber.

You can't put your kids in the corner? Put their stuff in this box instead. And watch them agonize as they stare at the phone they can't get to. At least when punishment time is up, it will be re-charged, since there are holes to put cords through. The not-shown other use for this is to put your alarm clock in it. No snooze button, you gotta do a complicated code thing to shut off the noise!

Another funny Kylo Ren image of him getting all rage-ish when the fish aren't biting. Of course, Rey would catch all the fish with no training or effort. Just a brief 5-second moment where she concentrates and is suddenly filled with all the knowledge of the fishermen.

Actual Minty in a book! Somebody want to collect me?

Magic does exist! Thank You!

I couldn't get all the trucks here to spell out "MINTY" and that's more of a teal blue than a minty green color anyway.

Our LGS has moved! That's slang for "Local Game Store". Not that we've ever actually played any games there, but that's the place that sells card game packs and those advanced board games and stuff.

The new location was not that far away, so we decided to go over to check it out.

The new place is HUGE! Easily three times the size of their old store. Nice to know they are doing well enough to get this type of upgrade.

Lounge area in the front for non-gamers who got dragged here. The Grand Opening card says the date, May The Fourth Be With You!

The display cabinets with the valuable single cards are on a rotating carousel. Press the button to scroll through the shelves! The guy said these displays are becoming relics since most single card sales are directly from TCGPlayer.com these days, even right inside this very store. He hopes to have a wall-mounted tablet for searching for cards and prices, and he'll simply get them for you out of the back.

Mug 'O Dice! It's the dice version of the Lego pick-a-brick wall.

That's about 40 seats at those tables there! And it looks like there's plenty of more room if he needed to get some additional tables.

The shop guy said Hasbro/Wizards of the Coast is trying to get stores to never use these cheap cardboard holders for the cards for sale. They de-value the product because they just plain look crummy and then the cards inside must not be valuable. However these particular cards ARE the least-valuable cards ever, since they are basically hundreds of versions of the same 5 cards.

It doesn't matter what the game rules say, the movie rules say that the Tie Fighters never hit anything. I wonder if the rules require you to proclaim "I got him!" followed by "Great, kid! ...Don't get cocky"

Is there a difference between Elves and Aelves? Did they not check to see how Elf was spelled? But... they just wanted to be first in the phone book. Looking to destroy your enemies? First listing: Aelves!

There's a bunch of puzzles here. I liked this tiny girl's monarch butterfly wings dress. But those rabbits look a tad bit creepy.

I took this picture when the news reports said "record high" gas prices, and it's funny to look at it now that they've gone a lot higher. Bonus sign to read here with a bunch of gas rules. If you stop and think about how much gas the whole world uses every day... how have we not run out of it by now?!

I like this crazy cat art puzzle um... art. I don't know why, but it's inspiring me to create some art.

Why would they make a giant Squirrel Deadpool POP! Figure? It's bigger than a real squirrel. Sometimes I look at "collectibles" and just am so confused about how someone would want something like this. But they made one, so.... I guess they thought people would want it.

A long time ago when they made Dungeons & Dragons action figures, this guy came out and had a super cool iconic name: Warduke. Great character design where he's rockin' the helmet of mystery similar to say, early Boba Fett, with glowy red eyes of evil. He never got the popularity he deserved, but it's cool to see a POP! Figure of him.

I saw these cat-ear headphones in the store and thought it was like, only for hacker girl trope characters on TV shows and movies, I didn't know they actually sell this sort of thing for real.

Mind blown. There's an old movie Jingle All The Way where Arnold Schwarzenegger quests the entire time to get this rare figure for his kid. They actually make a real version, and here it is... on clearance. Nobody wants it. So... don't watch the movie? I guess it won't make any sense now.

Earth Day Care Bears. Because they care. In case that wasn't clear enough by their name, CARE Bears.

Seeing these Little People figures from The Office, and all of a sudden I want Little People versions of all kinds of shows now. Have they done any other properties?!

Another Earth Day promo, might be cooler if I had any idea who Black Orchid was and whatever they have to do with being Earth-friendly.
