Barrett Street Antiques part 2

There was enough pictures gathered from the Barrett Street Antique Center in Virginia Beach to fill another post. So let's continue checking out old stuff and making fun comments.

Emergency red phone! I guess you can have a red phone without it being for emergencies. Did this phone ever call Batman? Holy Salespitch!

I don't think these were actual antiques, but there was a nook with some cool fairie artwork pieces. Gotta appreciate that kind of hustle to get your work out there. Honestly my friend thought it was a little inspirational.

This bird statue has to go in a very specifically-decorated room. Who's got something that matches those colors?

My friend really liked this super weird shelf thing. Not sure why. He totally doesn't have anywhere to put it in our tiny New Jersey apartment.

Awwww yeah. Now THIS is a treasure chest. Looking at this picture, I can recall that we did not open it to see what was inside. Hmm. isn't that strange.

Relax-a-lator. Relax! Eh, I'll do it ah-later.

Genuine Opera stage prop from a show called Pagliacci. I don't know how relevant to the plot a funhouse mirror is. Check out Minty looking all tall over here!

This tag says G.I.Joe, this must be pretty old to be for the much-bigger original guys. Fun fact: the G.I.Joe figures from this era coined the term because they didn't think little boys would want to buy dolls. Which is basically what they were at the time. They were trying to sell dolls to boys by calling them "action figures." Now that's all everybody calls them these days.

How many adventures do you think this thing had? Hey check out that map over there. How many cities can you name just by recognizing where those dots are placed, without the state lines on it?

Pull the string to make the doll dance! I will withhold the funny thought about where this string is tied, and the also the funny thought about why pulling on it would make this guy dance.

Ohhhh drool. Is it cliche that a girl likes her shoes? Hey, these are shoes to Minty. The classic thing to do is hang these up for luck. Make sure you hang it so it looks like a "U" because it's supposed to fill up with good luck like a cup. Gotta be made of iron and should have seven nails in it, over your front door.

Squirt Soda. Haha why did that not catch on? I have to get me some Squirt! This almost looks like a fake ad for one of those shows that cannot use real merchandise brand ads.

Aren't we ALL vintage souls? Does this shirt imply that there are different ages of souls?

If you need to be absolutely certain that the portions are equal. Each cupcake will have the same exact amount of sprinkles!

I looked these up, and Ritz Crackers were introduced in 1934, which puts the 50th anniversary in 1984. However, the Nabisco Saltine Cracker can trace it's roots all the way back to... 1801!

After we stopped to look at that awesome bar setup, it was fun to notice that EVERYBODY stopped to admire it. We had to wait a while to get a clear picture without anybody over there gawking at it.

Cowboy hats! Yeeeee HAW! Aren't there regular stores for that kind of thing? Who would want an antique.... hat? Has that been on some dude's head for a long time?

Old Star Trek Hallmark Xmas ornaments. If you are wondering why you would want a big square ornament, that's actually a Borg Cube and it's going to want to assimilate you. Resistance is futile. Does the Borg assimilate the desire to celebrate Xmas and hang ornaments on trees?

This says "Kidillac" on it! For me should it say "Mintillac"? Nah, I guess that's not as cool sounding.

On the way out we saw this very Minty-colored chair. Looked like it was in great condition but where would we put it? We can't justify a whole chair to add to the Minty-themed collection.

The classic directions to find this Antique Center is to say that it's next to the Laser Tag place. It's been a loooong time since we've been there, but it was very good to see that it was still there, and it looked rather busy, too!
