The Wave

Pictures from the New York Toy Fair are coming soon, right now here's a short gallery of artist-ic pictures and just random stuff, too.

This is Katsushika Hokusai from the game Fate: Grand Order. She's the "heroic spirit" of the famous Japanese artist who manifested as one of his daughters, Oi, who also was an artist. Yeah that's only a little complicated. Hokusai is actually a tiny octopus floating nearby. Her moves in the game revolve around smashing monsters with her large brush as it "paints" the attacks around them. It's cool that this game is teaching us about history and stuff, even if it's all mixed up about it.

So we were in Hot Topic and saw this Godzilla t-shirt and thought "Hey! We recognize that wave!" And got an extra smile out of the design which is obviously trying to mimic the style. I don't imagine the character would get a "Godzilla attack" in the game, it would be too powerful!

A few minutes later walking through the Go! Calendar store and we see it again! Not that we are purposefully looking for this, but it's neat to think that once you are made aware of something, you might realize it was all around you the whole time.

And finally here's a screen-capture of the actual game. Her big "Noble Phantasm" move draws the whole painting around them, finishing with the giant wave. Note: it wasn't easy getting a screen capture of the phone game on the phone which we normally take pictures with.

I bet you didn't know there was a Fast and Furious cartoon series on Netflix. Remember the Fast and Furious recurring lesson that the first one to eat has to say grace! I'd like to thank McDonald's Happy Meal for letting us all know about this show. I'd also like to thank the Fast and Furious movies for reminding us how important a good family meal is. Oh, you thought those were mindless action car movies? Family. Boom.

Is it just luck that whenever I take a picture of the squirrels in this bush that we can see them so clearly? You'd think there would be branches blocking the view, but nope.

My friend wanted to take a picture of Transformers Hoist here just to point out that he was a childhood favorite and when he saw the new one, he just had to get it. It's not his absolute favorite Transformer, but he has fond memories of getting this guy on Xmas one year. You know when your parents say "You've got too many Transformers already!" and then surprise you with one?

Eating lunch at the mall, and this little bird is walking around. Inside. It was funny because it was having trouble getting traction on the smooth floor and was kind of slide-walking-hopping.

Shame on Hallmark for not trusting Star Trek fans to recognize this charater if they used his proper name Locutus. The tag says "Borg Picard" instead. Does that make "Borg Queen" from the rock group Queen? Weeee are the Boooorg, my friend! And resistance is futile, to the end!

It's time for your 11pm snacks, sir.

This is like, the most horrific thing you could do to someone. Imagine this poor pig with these lines drawn on it. This is such tragic art... I bet the intent was to promote the tasty things we get out of pigs, but I can't help but feel like I want to rescue this pig from being carved up.

This jar is not big enough for the described "snaccident" of eating a family-sized bag of cookies. But it's funny. We've all had a snaccident before, haven't we?

Found this Famicom-colors R.O.B. Amiibo at a Five Below. This was previously only available in Japan since that's where the Famicom was. Americans know it as the Nintendo Entertainment System, or NES. which had a grey and black color scheme. A bunch of collectors paid a lot to import them for a complete collection, and here it is several years later for a mere $5.

Much like my recent picture I posted about how a Transformer named "Bonecrusher" implied robots have bones, we see this new guy named "Daddy-O" who turns into a 50's-style car where that term was popular slang, but again implies that robots have dads... and then moms, too. What is going on with Transformers?

Finally found the hilarious Playmobil port-a-potty and had to get one just because it's so funny. Phew! Can you smell this thing through this picture? Haha.

My biggest complaint about this movie was the title. It's really the Harley Quinn movie and has like, NO "Birds of Prey" at all. Otherwise, it's a really fun action movie and doesn't deserve the hate "the internet" seems to throw at it. Honestly it was alright. Dare I say... pretty good.

Anybody want some unicorn cookies? Includes free nightmares!

These collectibles are from the Guardians of the Galaxy movie where they were kept by a character named "The Collector". Now you can collect them, too. Whoa. Now YOU are The Collector.

These "popcorn" Lego pieces are commonly used stacked on each other as "smoke". Here they are in the pick-a-brick wall, if you need a ton of these for anything.

Look at the bottom right picture down there where The Child is peeking around the corner. Who's not going to want one of these after seeing that picture?! So adorable!! Get one so he can peek around corners in your own home.

Of course they will eventually give "The Child" a name, so will the merchandise that says "The Child" be more collectible later, or not, because they don't have the real name?

Castiel um... cereal! Sure, why not. I showed this picture to my friend, who thought it was really a bad choice to color it black. Hello! Castiel is an ANGEL! Why would he get evil dark cereal?

My friend just wanted to have a picture here to remind him of the funny story his friend made up of the name of this store, and how it was founded by two um... ladies of the night. They were co-owners or co-yeah you get the joke. Every time we come to this mall and pass this store, it makes us smile. And some day in the future we'll re-read this and get another laugh.
