Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser part 2

In case you missed the last post, I'm sharing pics from our adventure on Disney's Galactic Starcruiser. Make sure to go back if you need to, here's another batch.

I posted the entrance last time, but here's a different marker as you drive up to the valet parking. I like to have an intro pic with the title on it. So let's get back to the adventure!

That's Captain Keevan over there, greeting passengers. As the captain, she's technically in charge of... everything around here. And one of the main characters for our adventure.

Up on the stage is Lenka Mok, the cruise director. Everybody remember watching The Love Boat? That ship had a cruise director, too. Also SK-620 is up there. They are pals and have been working together for a long time.

(dramatic music) Here comes Lt. Croy of the First Order, along with a couple of Stormtroopers. There's been reports of Resistance activity on the ship, and they will get to the bottom of it!

Ouannii plays a tune. Passengers don't worry, Gaya will be here soon and don't let the First Order bother you. Honestly I could have taken beat-for-beat pics of the story, but I didn't want to let that distract me from y'know... enjoying it. So I got a pic every so often, but there are things I probably should have gotten pictures of, but purposely chose to be "in the moment" instead.

Hey Stormtroopers, we're just trying to get over to the gift shop. Don't hassle us! Except... they are there specifically TO hassle us. It's part of the adventure!

This is the point where the adventure really starts to take off. The Datapad phone ap starts receiving messages from the crew, and you are sent around the ship to complete various tasks. You get access to the Engineering Room, which now will open with your Magic Band.

The Engineering Room has tons of different areas with knobs and switches and display panels. It feels very much like an "escape room" where you have to figure out which levers to flip in which direction.

It was fun watching everyone wander around as we went from station to station fixing things, or scrambling codes, or whatever else the crew messages asked us to do. Not everyone got the same tasks, so it was chaotic but not crowded, if that makes any sense.

Am I outside? Wasn't I on a spaceship? This is the Environment Simulator Room, which was set to the planet Batuu, the planet we were scheduled to visit. There was a rock balancing thing and you can see people already having some fun with it.

Sky! Hey, it's "simulated"! Everybody who came in here was asking the same question: What do they do if it rains? Hahaha. Nobody knew. Also, it was HOT in here.

Various real plants for your datapad ap to translate the descriptions of. Not fake alien plants, real exotic plants that just seemed alien because they... are supposed to be. This says Speckled Scathe Begon from Taanab, the datapad ap would give you more info when you scanned this.

Random hallway near the cargo bay with dirty cargo containers. Star Wars is typically dirty-style but the ship here was very clean for the most part. That top crate says Fragile and the bottom one says Keep Upright.

There was a scheduled event for "bridge training" where you learn how to operate the ship stations. We'd get to do that later.

It was quite sound-proof, but you could still see some cool stuff going on in there. Should we recognize that ship? I don't know. I think it was docking with us.

Gaya is here! Singing superstar! Lt. Croy was quite smitten with her and was low-key creeping on her. I mean, can you blame the guy? It's GAYA!

During a pause in the "action" we wandered into the bingo game called Sector Set. The numbers matched planets and this is a galaxy map.

The idea is to fill one whole section, or get one chip in all of each section. The spinning droid thing had the numbers in it. This is the type of thing a "regular" cruise ship would have, so it's not gotta be "all" adventure story things going on. Also, check out the gift shop back there.

My friend won a round of Sector Set! The prize was a metal coaster thing, which was usually given to passengers who paid extra to sit at the Captain's Table during the dinners, which we did not do. Cool! Also here's some pins we bought at the gift shop. We had to tell the shop employee the phrase "ignite the spark" to which they would respond "light the fire!" to get access to purchase the secret Resistance pins!

Almost immersion-breaking, but there's an ATM machine if you needed real cash for anything. Eh, it looks space-y enough, and they did put the cool R2 unit circle access port thing near the bottom of it. Also, you can see the sideways power outlet on the wall, which looks space-y but still works like any regular power outlet for your regular things you'd need to plug in.

Diner! We get a booth along the wall! Comfy! I saved all of the food pictures for it's own posting, So stay tuned later for all of the crazy alien food. I can say that everything we ate was amazing.

Gaya was singing songs while we ate. Not just a couple, but a whole bunch! It was a full concert! Original, alien-sounding, great songs. Just like you'd expect aboard a cruise ship vacation, right?

At some point, Lt. Croy came in and started swagger-ing all over Gaya. The crowd cheered as she shut him down. Captain Keevan was sneaking around behind this pillar, right next to us!

Chewbacca! I don't think anybody ever called him that, they all just said... Chewy! It looked like the ship's crew "caught" him, and instead of turning him over to the First Order, they put him in the ship's brig. We did catch Chewy sneaking around earlier but never got a chance to interact with that group.

Ever get a gourmet multi-course meal with a bill like this? All zeros! That's how they roll on a cruise ship, even ones in space. We felt bad that we couldn't tip, since we had only Magic Bands on, and no real money. But later we figured it out and left a tip on the 2nd night.

More fun after the diner, as the waitress "dropped" a note piece for us. As we pondered over it, we noticed several other guest "also" pondering over note pieces, and quickly collaborated to get the full message!

We arrived at the planet Batuu! A small break before the story wraps up for the night. We'll be going down to the planet tomorrow.

More story; Lt. Croy forces the poor mechanic Sammie to lock down SK-620, who is suspected of hiding Resistance secrets. Booo! Lenka Mok  knows somebody at the droid depot on Batuu who will help us rescue Eskay, which we can do tomorrow. A personal highlight in the story came for us when we got a message right before we went to sleep. Asking us to input a code in the system to scramble the message hidden inside the droid, in case the First Order was able to get access. Well, here we were in our pajamas about to go to sleep. But we threw on the shoes and snuck out into the quiet hallway, and beep-beep entered the code. We were the only ones doing it. Most of the activities going on were full of other passengers, but this one felt like it was ours alone. Sneaking in the corridors at night. Kinda neat.

Day 2, time to head down to the planet Batuu! Can you read a space map?

This is THE pin, exclusive to Starcruiser Halcyon passengers. The only way to get this, is to book a cruise, on this very expensive adventure. My friend said this might be the most expensive Disney pin you'll ever get. You're supposed to wear this while on Batuu, to alert the park employees to your adventure, but we were already wearing exclusive Halycon Magic Bands which should do the same thing.

The shuttle ride down to Batuu reminded me of a New York subway car. But y'know, the Star Wars version of that. I forgot to get a pic of the whole cab area, but I took a few pics of the ads on the wall.

Another ad. Look at all that text! Ain't nobody got time to translate that! Stay tuned, the next batch of pictures is from our trip down to the planet Batuu, as the adventure continues...
