Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser Bonus

Whew! What an adventure. I still have a couple more batches of pictures from our "trip" on Disney's Galactic Starcruiser. If you missed out on all that, click back several posts to see what that was all about. This is a collection of random pictures kinda like I'd normally do but from all around the cruise experience.

This is the entrance at the parking lot and the first logo'd thing that you see. This is the point where your mind starts to freak out with thoughts of "Are we really doing this?! AHHHHH!!!!" Our own real Star Wars adventure? It's about to begin!

I'm getting excited all over again, but I already posted those pictures. Here's a shot of the floor of the elevator, or um... turbolift? What do they call these in Star Wars? Is this a BB-8 pattern on the floor?

Ah, right under the deck number, it says Turbolift 1. In English. Oops. Probably should be in Aurebesh. You can also zoom in and see the decks and areas available. I guess we can't go ALL over the ship with this thing. Could you imagine?!

"Hyperspace Compass. Restored by our founder Shug Drabor in the earliest days of the Halcyon's travels." Another space museum piece in the wall. We have Astromech Droids for this sort of thing these days.

In Engineering, there was a ventilation shaft that you could crawl through. Yeah it was all kinds of silly awkward to do it, but if you did, it put you in... the Brig! There was a computer access thing that would give you a code valid for 30 seconds to open the brig, so it was a fun mini-game to lock yourself in and challenge you friends to get the code and run back to free you before the lock changed again.

In the Environment Simulator Room, there was an actual space critter! A real-life tiny lizard creature! Careful little guy, people are balancing rocks over here.

There was a free water dispenser near the Bridge. Space water? The levers were odd to use, they just kind of pushed a tiny but, making you wonder if it was working or not.

There was a super-detailed model of the ship in the Atrium. We're on board this right now!

So much text to translate! In case you missed it, those alphabet characters are in the Star Wars language called Aurebesh. It takes a little practice to learn it, but it's a simple substitution cypher where a symbol equals a real alphabet letter. They could have gone "full Klingon" with a whole different language, but this is a lot more simple fun once you get the hang of it.

What is this, a ship for ANTS!? [Smash!] Haha don't let Zoolander in here.

Speaking of tiny things, here's the quarters for the ship's lead designer, Shug Drabor. He's an Anzellan, what most fans would call a "Babu Frik" species. So he's very tiny and needed a tiny room. This door is just there in the hallway, you might not even notice it.

I think I already posted a picture of the long hallway where the guest rooms were. We were glad our room so so close to the entrance! I mean, we were already doing a ton of walking around, what's the deal with a little more?

As we were leaving the ship, I got a few pictures of the hallways. Not crowded with passengers. So I can look back and remember how wonderful this place was.

It's a shame they will stop doing this whole thing. The rumors floating around the park employees we asked vary wildly from full demolition, to "it's gotta sit here and do nothing for two whole years to get the proper tax break". I think they could at least film a TV series or movie here, without even changing anything.

For breakfast they had POG juice! That sounds alien but it's a common hotel mix of Passion fruit, Orange juice, and Guava juice. I bet the kids don't know that, and will get excited when they see it somewhere else later.

Gotta say hi to Dok-Ondar the Ithorian who runs the antiquities shop. You want a rare item? Jedi holocron maybe? He's the guy to get one for you. And he did!

The walls all over this shop are absolutely crammed with Star Wars things you'll be happy to recognize. Looks like they updated it since the last time I was here, I don't remember The Mandalorian's helmet and disintegration rifle being up there.

Remember Darth Vader's melted helmet that Kylo Ren had? When they showed it in the movie, it was kind of a red flag moment of... ooooh, he might be crazy. Now you can get one, and be crazy, too!

I'm looking at this picture thinking I should have gotten the figure of Dok-Ondar and then surrounded him with all kinds of antiquities from the rest of my figures. Wouldn't it be funny if he was selling things from Transformers, or G. I. Joe, or whatever other figures I had?

Want a baby Sarlacc? You can feed it bugs and enjoy the thought of them learning a new definition to the words pain and suffering, as they are slowly digested over a thousand years.

That ship in the middle was the first one we got on during the Resistance ride. It was created specifically for that ride, and the model was created specifically for the gift shop. See how that works?

They sell this style ship of the Milennium Falcon in regular stores, but there is a park exclusive version with Hondo, from the ride. With a park exclusive much higher price, too.

Stopped in to say word-up to my nameless pal droid with embroidery spools all over it. I guess this is some kind of garment droid. I really should look it up to find out more details. Do you think they made up details, that I could look up?

Red and purple popcorn. Called Outpost Mix, found at Kat Saka's Kettle, it's grape and cinnamon flavors. That sounds so... unusual. I didn't try any, but there are fans of it.

There's also green popcorn, but... that's just regular flavor. But it's green, so it looks like it's from another planet.

I got another picture of the message boards at Oga's Cantina. If you translate these from Aurebesh, they are a collection of funny references. I wonder if these are the same as the last time I was here?

The Droid Depot shop was all out of official CB-23's. That's the droid from the Resistance show. While you couldn't buy the pre-made one in a box with the name on it, the pieces were floating around on the build-it-yourself area. So if you really wanted one, you could still kind of get one. CB-23 is the round droid that has red and light teal colors.

He's not a droid, but a mechanic. They did have "droid" versions of Babu Frik that moved around! He's a tiny guy, this is how big he is.

You need a Magic Band "Plus" to access the bounty hunter station. That was not part of our Galactic Starcruiser adventure at all, but it was neat to see something so detailed that we did not need to interact with.

Once you find your target, you return to this door and scan your Magic Band+ to collect your credits. I'm not sure how any of this works, and we didn't have time to stop and figure it out. None of us had +bands anyway.

Yikes. You know that lightsaber you spent $200 to get? Well, good news! Now you can buy a 2nd lightsaber, for another $200, and then with this attachment, you can screw the ends together, and make your own $400 double-bladed lightsaber!!! Like Darth Maul had!! And they seriously make you pay an extra $25 for this piece? They should give this away for free, just to help sell that 2nd lightsaber.

We debated if these were the actual art panels from The Emperor's office, or recreations. We all kind of agreed these were most likely recreations. But... maybe this thing was in The Emperor's office? At the very least, it's an impressive thing for this guy to have in his shop on Batuu.

I wonder if your boss would find it cute if you put this on your desk at work. Everybody likes loyalty.

Another exclusive figure set in the gift shop; all these things were on the Resistance ride. When Hux showed up my friend had a brief moment where he didn't know it was a screen, and was stunned like... What is the actual actor doing here? That's the real Hux up there!

That's a serious amount of balanced stones. We all tried balancing stones, and I think we could do about four of them before it toppled. The Force must be strong with the person who did this.

I tried to get a picture of it, but the room door slid into the wall, space-style. It didn't move itself, but it was still neat.

There's the nearest access terminal to it, and you can see the Brig in the cubby in the back. You got 30 seconds to get the code, and run over there to get someone out of the brig! Fun. This was another pic I grabbed of the empty ship when we were about to depart.

Just got the car back from the valet. We pulled over coincidentally next to the BB-8 parking lot. Cute. Also fun, in the mirror you can see one of the mountain tops, from the skyline of Batuu. From this angle you can see the support beams, but when you are in the park, it looks just like mountains way off in the distance and the supports are hidden so you can't see them. There's one last bunch of pictures coming up, who's hungry?
