Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser part 4

Still more pictures from our Galactic Starcruiser adventure! And again, if you missed the previous posts, you might want to go back and check those out before you read the comments on these.

Back from our visit to Batuu, Here's the ship's registration plaque. There's a code in the middle we needed to enter into an Engineering panel. Very escape-room-ish. The top says Halcyon and the bottom says Built for Chandrila Charter Company Shug Drabor, Founder.

Lightsaber training! There were several characters on board called Saja, which means "teacher" for Jedi. We all got to take turns and swing around real fake lightsabers as drones in the wall shot out beams of light. It was a neat event, during the training we all heard the voice of Jedi Master Yoda tell us we had some force potential!

Almost forgot to take a picture of the control panel you interacted with all over the ship. There's a scanner and some buttons below the screen. You can see on the schedule that they have a Porg Detection Drill in Engineering. We heard that's where they hide a bunch of Porgs like Easter Eggs and very young kids rush around to find them all. So they even have things for the younglings to do on the cruise!

More story unfolds as SK-620 is unlocked and runs away to hide from the First Order. Yay! We totally helped with that.

It was our turn to do the bridge training drills. We got put on the Blue Bantha team. Teams were set so we would rotate through the different stations. First up was weapons!

Outside, we can see they set up the little kids to surround Lt. Croy and block him from finding SK-620. Looked like it would have been cute to see that, but we are doing important training in here.

Does anybody have any idea if this is a good score or not? As part of the training, we were aiming at random boxes floating in space, not real enemies or anything.

My friend crushed it on the shield station. 102! You got to spin your shield around the ship and deflect the incoming shots, so this was very much like a video game.

There were cargo drone catchers, as random boxes were floating around and you had to grab them.

The Engineering station would show a display of the buttons and you had to quickly match up the real buttons in the same pattern of on/off-ness. It was a frantic mess, but lots of fun. I'm givin' it all I've got, Captain!

Our other friends crushed that bit, they did a lot more than we did! Overall it was a very fun thing getting a chance to run things on the ship, even if it was simulations.

While taking a break in our room, we notice... um... why are there Tie Fighters roaming around outside?!

We rush out to find the First Order has taken control of the ship! AH!

See the First Order flags hanging on the railing? There's more story going on, but at this point I made the choice to like, enjoy the story, rather than document it. I still took a few pics though. I'll use this pic to tell a personal story highlight for my friend, as we were being briefed on the bridge by Captain Keevan, the rescued SK-620 shows up and before going away to hide again, it slowly approached my friend. Slowly... right next to him... and he just reached down and hugged it! Aww! The droid gave him a hug! We're glad we were able to help! Can you believe a real Star Wars droid hugged you? What a priceless memory.

Here's my new best bud Eskay guarding the Jedi Holocron we just opened. Yeah there's a bunch of story we skipped, but basically while on Batuu we found a Jedi artifact and got it on board the ship. Oh yeah, Rey showed up, too. And we had a full-blown conversation with her, and helped her sneak around the ship and stuff. Lots of fun.

That guy playing the crazy space guitar next to Gaya is Sandro. He had a whole arc as a wandering musician happily playing tunes for the passengers, and eventually Gaya's manager signed him to a new performing duo with Ouannii.

Here's the engineer Sammi getting busted by Lt. Croy for hiding the coaxium we smuggled up to the ship. He was busted on purpose so that Lt. Croy thinks he's won.

Gaya shows up to distract him. They really try to include the passengers as they eventually come down here and we all start dancing around them to hide the other crew people sneaking the coaxium away.

Eventually Lt. Croy tells us Supreme Leader Kylo Ren is on his way here. All alone above us he has a great moment of gloating as he points out specific passengers: "Where's Megan? Megan? There you are! You have helped out the First Order a great deal! And my friend Kyle? There he is!..." It was a very fun bit of the adventure.

Supreme Leader of the First Order, Kylo Ren! He was not pleased with Lt. Croy and force chokes him a bit. He came on board to look for the Jedi Holocron.

Rey shows up and the crowd erupts with cheers when she lights up her saber to save us. To be clear, the lightsabers that she and Kylo Ren had were NOT the ones you get in the shops, with the plastic tubes that light up. They were handles, and the light shot up from them. Like... for real. There was a full-on action-packed lightsaber duel! Acrobatic flips and everything! I'm glad I got this one epic picture of the duel.

Camera put away as we enjoyed the conclusion to the story. Rey gets away with the Jedi Holocron, a frustrated Kylo Ren leaves but tells Lt. Croy and the Stormtroopers to kill us all, and Chewy shows up just in time to save us. Cue the triumphant music and we get space fireworks out of the windows! Was the music being there a little out-of-experience? Nope, it was all good for the ending of our great adventure!

Whew! Later that night we get a note from Captain Keevan. Classy.

We go to the dining room to catch the debut of the new music group. I talked to Sandro a couple of times during the trip and I'm glad he got a happy ending. Or... Beginning?

We walked over to the end of the room hallway since our room was so close to the front, just to see what it was like. Some passengers had to walk all the way back here! Were we lucky, or did we just book our stay sooner?

The bar was packed, but we thought we'd peek in there, since we really didn't go in there at all during our adventure. It wasn't that big of a place, really. These pictures might make it look like it was bigger.

Look up at the ceiling, Kylo Ren force-pulled that down and it almost crashed on us! We were right under it when it happened, so we screamed pretty loud! From the side you can see all kinds of tubes still holding it. That's some good engineering, right?

Here's a space dining chair. Comfy. I guess I didn't get a picture of our booth, which was more comfy than this. When we ate lunches and snacks, we sat in the main area and not our booth, just for variety.

We didn't even notice the lock and cleaning request buttons by the door until we were about to leave! I guess you still needed the magic band to unlock the door, why would there be another lock?

Need the room cleaned? During the night, we heard a vacuum cleaner in the hallway, and we all checked if it was a droid. It was a regular crew member with a regular vacuum cleaner. They also wished there were droids doing the vacuuming! And we all laughed.

Sniff sniff.... We're back on the transport pod, going back to our regular world. Those look like Earth trees out the window.

The doors are closing. Wait! I want to go back! I say just kidding, but I really do want to go back. It was such an epic adventure.

And.... boom. You guessed it, a gift shop as you exit. This is hidden behind a wall when you arrive for the adventure, but open when you get off! This is all exclusive merchandise, too. But it's now Disney themed for the actual Galactic Starcruiser attraction, with "Star Wars" on it. I don't even have words for how awesome the whole experience was, and it's hard to believe they will stop doing this. I am so grateful I got to be in a real Star Wars story!
