Home Tourist

Visitors! I won't drag anybody down with explanations, but recently we had an opportunity to have my friend's parents visit us in New Jersey for a few days of vacation-style activities. We got a few pictures to share of the fun things did.

We took them to the D&R Canal Trail that we frequently ride our bike around. Since we drove the car there and parked, walking around was a little different than riding the bike. Here's a side-trail view that we have not gotten from the bike.

Vacation-style eating is the BEST. Always nice to have a good reason to go to the favorite spots.

Ever been to a Texas Roadhouse? If you haven't they have these mega-tasty rolls with the awesome butter. And if you have, then you know why I took this yummy picture.

Why take another picture of a steak? To remember fondly the yumminess.

The next day we went in to Princeton. Originally they were not very excited but once they got there, they quickly realized why everyone gushes over the place.

The big impressive church is a must-see. We feel like we were just here not too long ago.

You may have noticed a huge increase in the quality of the photos? We recently upgraded our cell phone into the modern era.

This corner is very dark, yet the new camera views it like a super hero with night-vision powers. Seriously, it looks better on the camera than in real-life.

We wandered around for a while. So here's like, a general picture, to get that effect.

There was scaffolding around the other side of this building, and we don't remember this type of facade, so this must be a new renovation project going on this one building here.

It was threatening stormy that day, we carried around umbrellas but never had to use them.

A nice break from all the walking around the campus in Palmer Square, which is in the shopping area right next to Princeton.

Here's a guy who is always on his lunch break. Hey buddy, what'cha readdin'?

The sculpture actually has text in this book. We did not have time to read it to figure out what book this is, that's what the picture is for! Hope it's good because these are the only two pages this poor guy has to read for eternity.

Later we drove down Mercer Street to find where Einstein lived. We recognized it from this picture found in one of the shops. Just a normal old house.

We finally found a cool Princeton shirt to get; with a star marking about where in New Jersey we are. And also, my friend's Mom took home our new pal Princella here from the store that sells expensive wool goods.

You just know that deep in his soul, Trump is furious that they are selling products with his face and catchphrases that he is not making any money off of. Even though this seems to be mocking him, the fact that he is not earning the money is more painful to him.

What do you call these things where they hang all the flyers off of? If you zoom in, you can see we wedged a Minty coin into one of the staples over there. I wonder if this tiny ad will draw any visitors to the blog?

Who doesn't want a sqeezable friend? I don't think I'm very squeezable but you can try if you want, I won't mind.

We posed this and left it. Knowing that whoever saw this would get a smile and/or laugh out of this "dabbing" figure.

Regrettable Superheroes. Fatman. Yup I'm sure they regret that.

The Carvel is not very close to Princeton, but we drove all the way out of our way to get some well-earned snacks. We underestimated how big the "Large" was but ugh managed to finish the whole thing anyway haha.
