Bridged Out to The Outer Banks

Welcome to North Carolina! Time for the time share.

Our usual path down to North Carolina was literally cut off from us, due to this bridge construction. We're not super familiar with the area, but managed to find our way to the toll road down. Later on the trip back, the toll road wound up saving tons of time as it warped us right through Virginia Beach so this was what Bob Ross would have called a "happy accident."

I wonder if you could accidentally drive into a State and not see one of these "welcome" signs. Not all of the borders roads have a cool rest stop in the middle.

I didn't really think I'd get any pictures in the rest stop, but these cow things were cute. And I thought it was funny that they were using Simpsons quotes with Bart's catchphrases "Cow-abunga" and "Don't have a cow."

We also saw this sign there. Which is a very funny sign, but honestly, where are you going to hang it?

Yay! At the time share place. First thing we notice is the new couch. Which is not nearly as soft and comfy as the other one. And no pillows anywhere to be seen. Later they got some pillows for us.

My friend brought his banana pepper plant with him, so he could take care of it. Does this count as a pet? Check out the Hatchimal fish in there.

He brought some hot pepper candy for us to try, and now that I see this picture, we forgot to actually try it. Oops.

This Pikachu cord hugger looked adorable and sooooo happy! Wait... maybe too happy. What are you doing to that cord?

Stop. Pizza time.

We wanted a simple sort of dinner and this nearby pizza place was hyped up as something we have to try. Here's some menu if you wanted to check out what they've got.

he place was packed! Which is a good sign for a restaurant. There were only a few tables, all full, and we originally thought we'd need to take it home, but luckily by the time the pizza was ready we got one.

I think I need Instagram to post pictures of meals, right? The pizza was indeed pretty good, and very close to a "New York" pizza. Do I need to Minty-splain why that's high praise?

We have a friend at work who's a huge Avatar fan, so we grabbed a picture of the pinball machine there. This thing's in 3D!

Time to wander around Wal-Mart for some groceries and just good old shopping nonsense. I guess a "fat" quarter is almost 4 times the size of a regular quarter?

While waiting for somebody, we browsed through an anime magazine and saw a My Little Pony manga article. Snap a picture so we can read it later.

While taking a picture of this Michelob Ultra metal statue guy, our friend commented that it doesn't really take much to entertain us. Come all the way down to the Outer Banks for Wal-Mart and odd metal statue ad.

We glanced over and saw this Ghost Pepper Pizza Sauce and thought it sounded awesome. We just had pizza, but we'll look this up when we get back home.

My friend glanced down and thought it was funny that they were selling Pepto Bismol in the soda freezer. At least, that's what it looked like.

The only reason I took this picture is because the Wal-Mart typically has some sort of picture design made with the boxes, but not his year. It's just a big red wall of Coke.

Hmm... what's the catch here? Free cookie? Who is this "Harry the Happy Dragon"? And why is he giving away cookies? If you're wondering, we didn't take any... just in case.

Up until a while ago, my friend had not seen any of the Star Wars movies. We've been catching him up and tonight was Episode 2: Attack of The Clones. Here's the popular scene where Anakin monologues about how much he hates sand, and how smooth Padme is. We warned him that most of the dialogue in this movie is pretty cringey, but I don't think it was as bad as we remembered it being.
