Still got tons more pictures from our trip down to Disney World. This bunch of pictures is during our "break" day, and our hop over to Disney Springs. We only got to do this because the thunder noise from the storm closed down the pool at the Yacht Club, otherwise we probably would have stayed in the pool all afternoon instead.
Gotta wait for the bus! One of the nice things about a Disney vacation is that you don't have to drive at all. There's always something to get you around, and usually for free. Bring some patience, maybe?
While waiting for the bus, we see the Cruise Line bus. Those people are going on a cruise! Or coming back from one? We kind of went on a cruise a few days ago... in space. I mean, I'm totally counting it as a real cruise.
I recall the last time I was on a Disney Bus, Disney+ had just launched, and the ads were for The Mandalorian.
Finally here. The first picture was taken at 3:16, and this one was at 4:08. That's a bonus from taking pictures like this, you can check how long it took to get here. That's a lot longer than it felt like, I guess we made a few stops. Eh, it was free.
So. Many. Shops. It was a little foolish to come out here, since we had dinner plans, and that required us to be back at the hotel by 6. Giving us a little bit of travel buffer, we kind of only had 1.5 hours to run around and see everything before we needed to bail and catch another bus back.
Pixar's Elemental. That's the movie that was new in theatres during our trip. As many people who don't go to movies anymore, we still tend to mark time with the releases. Everybody remembers things like what movie was playing during wherever they were at.
My friend almost bought the adorable Chip and Dale cupcake pillow. It's Chip on one side, and Dale on the other. So they don't make you buy two pillows!
I took this picture for my friend who might have found the movie quote "The kid almost touched me!" funny. Because we're all worried about germ-y kids, right? Spoiler alert, we should have been scared. Another spoiler, as I write this, everybody is all better now. But that's a story for another time. Right now we are still running around shopping!
The Star Wars and Marvel gift shops are right next to each other. That's nice of them to do, since fans of either are most likely fans of both.
Star Wars first! You don't need to say more than just "Cantina." We all know where you are talking about.
I'm not sure, and my memory is not as great as it used to be, but isn't this bottle design from Star TREK? I mean, it counts as a space-bottle at least. Maybe I'm just thinking of something else.
There're all kinds of unique stuff at Disney Springs. And honestly, I took a ton of pictures because we couldn't really stop anywhere for too long. Grab a picture and check out stuff later.
What a clever name for the Pride-themed promotional droid, BB-You. Perfect just the way it is.
A whole rainbow of droids. You can probably separate them and just have a bunch of colorful droids all around. There's still some pride in that, right?
Do you know? I mean, the reference. Who doesn't know?
All kinds of cool quotes on pins. More running around snapping pics real-quick.
Remember how The Mandalorian and Grogu defeated the Mudhorn beast? What a great moment. We all knew him as Baby Yoda at this point but still didn't know for sure he could use the Force.
OH NOOOOOOO! Don't chew on Grogu! Who thought this was a good idea?!
How is this on a shirt, and not on a cape? Shouldn't they sell you a cape?
There's so much content for Star Wars at this point, that it's not possible to keep track of every cool background character. It was much easier when it was just three movies. But it's still neat to see action figures for the random background droids. Maybe some of them are more memorable than others.
Here's a holiday-themed park exclusive droid. Astromech droids are a pretty good combination of adorable and um, robot. If that makes any sense.
Tiny mugs from the Starbucks series of mugs based on places you've visited. Except these are from Star Wars places! We have a friend who collects these (well, the full-sized ones) so we're excited to see these.
Several more places. You can see there's a full-sized one below, from Jakku. We found a full-sized one for Coruscant and bought it, but a park employee told us there was one for Mustafar. Despite checking every gift shop we could, we could only find big ones for Coruscant and Jakku. So oddly we wound up spending a lot of time searching for mugs. Not that we expected to, but it's worth mentioning.
Groot is all grown up again, but Baby Groot still gets tons of merchandise. Have him hold your water bottle.
If you couldn't tell, we're over in the Marvel store now. I think Star-Lord wore this shirt in the Guardians of The Galaxy movie. Looks like it's in-universe text and nonsense space picture.
Anybody remember what Gamora's Sword looks like? Yeah, I had to read the tag, too.
Cosmo is a good dog! It was important for the plot.
Marvel pins! Sorry we're in a hurry, just snap a pic and check them out later.
It's a What-if version of Captain America's shield where British agent Peggy Carter got it instead. Brilliant.
There's a neat lake bridge place in Disney Springs with clear water and some sort of underwater terrain. Still here, still neat.
Lego Store! This was supposed to be a highlight of a trip to Disney Springs, but not today. There was a LINE to get in! Argh. We had no time to wait in a line, so buh-bye. Not a big deal for me, since I have Lego stores in malls near me in New Jersey, but my poor friends from Virginia don't have one anywhere near them.
Life-sized Anna and Else from Frozen! You want a life-sized one at home? Well... it's LEGO, you can build one yourself, if you really wanted to.
Does it look like Elsa wants a hug? There's a wall here, but I feel like she wants a hug.
Disney fans know the real gem of this place is the Pin Trader store. My friend usually buys a few pins each trip. It's far beyond impossible to collect EVERY pin. Not even just every pin for certain characteres or shows. There's just so many of them! Just get a couple that look cool.
This reminds me of a Robot Paintbrush for Neopets. Like, what would Donald Duck look like painted Robot?
At this point, we were very short on time, so I was just snapping pics to check out later. What division was that? 332?
100th Anniversary logo coins? Who doesn't like cool coins?
Oh yeah, too many to check out, let's see if we can get some group shots, real quick.
Another wall of pins. Can you even zoom in and check them out?
This is a trading board. You can't buy these pins, but if you see one you want, you can buy any other pin, and TRADE for it! The park employees also wear pins you can trade for, too! It's a whole thing, trading pins.
We didn't know it at the time, and I guess we should have, but don't worry, there are plenty of pin stores in all of the parks. Pin Traders at Disney Springs has the reputation of being the best one, but you'll get lots of cool pins from other shops, too.
There's a game called Disney's Dreamlight Valley that we play, it's a little bit like Animal Crossing, but like, a Disney version. Anyway, Donald Duck falls down all the time and gets really mad, and it always annoys our friend. We thought about teasing her by getting this pin.
Not sure which pin to get? Get a blind-box random pin instead! As if collecting pins was not hard enough already. At least there's a huge culture of trading to help you out.
Those little Darlings princess pins look so adorable! I had to get a closer picture of 'em.
There's something called Mirrorverse with cool-versions of characters. Here's Ariel looking like she's got a big Combat Dinglehopper.
We had time to swoop into the nearby Star Wars store before we had to run to catch the bus. There's another one near the Pin Trader place. Window-less box, but this set has a CB-23 droid among other exclusives you won't find at a regular store near you.
Art! Um... Art Wars? Eh, that sounded cooler in my head.
We were just on the Galactic Starcruiser, but it's still neat to see the Aurebesh text on this display screen. We didn't have any time to check it out to see what we could get personalized from it.
Lightsabers in the display case! That one on the end actually says Rey Skywalker. And the other end is Anakin's legacy lightsaber that was welded back together after it was ripped in half, which is a neat thing to see.
Hey! It's Merchandise from Batuu and the Black Spire Outpost! There was a time when that kind of stuff was exclusive to the theme park area, but it's nice to see here in case you missed it.
Cool! They had these New Republic Marshall badges on The Mandalorian series! My friend picked one up, on account that it was not much more expensive than one of the tiny pins he just bought, and it's much much bigger! There's a magnet on the back and a metal plate, so you can wear it on any shirt.
No time! We were totally out of time, and I got this one picture to show that I didn't stop to take any pictures, as we ran through the massive Disney store on our way over to the bus stop. Take my word for it, there was a lot of stuff I could have taken pictures of! Maybe that's okay, I already had lots of pictures. Did you notice this was a lot more than I usually post?
5:35, on the way back to the hotel! We did it! My friend SPRINTED to get to the bus that was parked waaaaayyyy on the other side of the bus place. He didn't need to, since the bus was scheduled to leave at exactly 5:30, but we didn't want to risk it driving away before we got to it. Whew! For our "break day" my friend was pretty exhausted with swimming in the pool this morning and the rushing around and finishing with a sprint to the bus. There's plenty more vacation pictures to see!
