Hogan's Beach Shop

 Fresh out of our Galactic Starcruiser adventure, we went "off-property" to hit a few places in Florida that we've been wanting to check out for a while now. One of those places was called Hogan's Beach Shop.

Who? Of course we all know who Hulk Hogan is, right? One of the greatest professional wrestlers of all time! He actually owns a couple of gift shops with wrestling stuff in 'em. Let's go!

This was originally a 7-11, but it's been hollowed out and re-painted as a small shop. It's a silly thing to get excited about, which is sort of a hobby of mine. Getting excited about things. That's similar to professional wrestling, coincidentally.

There's a wrestling ring in the middle of the store! Apparently, you can pay a small fee and get photo ops in there, but we didn't do that.

One of the many championship belts won by Ric Flair was on display. They put it right there, and the sign says "don't touch." That's what the business calls a heel move.

Give us all your best "WOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!" If you know anything about Ric Flair, you just woo'd.

Laughed out loud at the Hogan political shirt that literally says Make Wrestling Great Again. There's too much commentary I could say here but I don't like doing politics so I'll resist. You're welcome. In the back, you can see a life-sized statue of Hogan. I thought I got a picture of that up-close, but I guess not.

Classic Undertaker is probably my favorite wrestler. Sorry Hogan, but you're still near the top of the list.

There was a lot of Andre the Giant merch here, the classic match between Hogan and Andre is maybe the exact moment that elevated wrestling from being a fringe interest to a pop culture staple.

Wrestling boots! Good for stomping opponents.

Belts! So many championships. I mean, should it be a surprise? Hulk Hogan is a huge guy!

Hahahaha! It's so much character-themed to have Rowdy Roddy Piper's t-shirt on clearance. That guy can't catch a break, not even with his t-shirt.

You now remember that Hulk Hogan had a cameo in one of the Rocky movies, where he tossed around poor Sylvester Stallone! No hard feelings, they were acting! Nuh-uh... wrestling is REAL!

Check out the funny outfits worn by The Rock in those classic match sock pairings. My friend bought the Undertaker vs Kane socks. That's from the Inferno match where the ring was surrounded by real flames and to win, you had to set your opponent on fire!

The TV up there was playing wrestling videos. I want to watch but we don't want to be here all day.

Looks like one of Hulk Hogan's freinds visited. I wonder if there were any fools to pity.

Yep, I bought the shirt. It's got Andre the Giant and Mean Gene Okerlund. As the announcer and interviewer, Mean Gene was just as much a part of the show as Hogan was.

Cute little plushies. These look like you can toss them around a bunch.

FAQ sheet by the register. 24" Pythons refers to his large muscular arms. It's funny to read these as things that commonly asked. Seriously people ask if they can get his phone number? Who would expect them to say yes?
