Whew! What an adventure! I'm posting pictures at a quicker pace than usual, so if you missed out on our Galactic Starcruiser trip, make sure to go back and catch up. We drove down to Florida for a "vacation" so I got plenty of pictures of everything. This group is from the boring travelling.
Yay! In a car for... all day! This thing was at a rest stop in um... South Carolina? One of the Carolinas. Might be North. One thing's for sure... it's in 'Merica!
Squirrel! What a fun thing to see on the floor of the rest stop. It brought a smile to me, so it's only fair I get a picture of it.
Ohp, there's the sign, we're still in North Carolina. It's basically one long road to get all the way down to Florida.
How many pictures of the rest stop do I need? Was I bored waiting for somebody? I don't remember. That fountain looks a little too dangerous with those sharp points. But still kinda neat.
I don't ever recall having a "boiled" peanut. Looks like some kind of soup? What's going on here? I feel like I should know about boiled peanuts.
Chomp! Yeah I might have been taking too many pictures. But when you are "going" on the vacation, you're excited and can't help yourself.
Zoom! Caught a picture of the speed limit sign as we rushed past. The fun thing to point out is that there is a MINIMUM speed, too! Did you ever think you'd get a slow-ing ticket?
Where's the peaches?! There were four of us (five including Minty!) so driving down was going to save us a ton of money on flight costs. And our friend has a niece we could stay with in Georgia, so the trip could be broken up a bit.
Gotta love Animal Crossing, somehow it also knew we were going on a road trip!
Sunset! We've been driving ALL DAY!
This is not a relative's house! Turns out that while we were driving, we got a call and one of her kids was not feeling well. High fever. Don't worry the kid was fine after a few days. But rather than risk certain exposure to illness right at the very start of our trip, we diverted to a random hotel in Georgia instead.
Yeah it was another hit in the wallet, since this was money we were going to save, but it would have been a different "cost" if we were sick at the park. Spoiler alert, almost all of us did eventually get sick, but it was after our Galactic Starcruiser, so at least that part was 100% enjoyed.
After the hotel we start off with beverages at a Circle K, where something is afoot. I just don't remember that they called their frozen things Frosters. Which seemed a little silly.
Shocked to see a technological leap at a Circle K. This thing will just figure out what you bought, no scanning barcodes needed! I'm up here, and it didn't charge anything for me. Because I'm priceless, of course.
City! Check out that crazy long walkway over the highway. That's how bad the people on the one side wanted to get Starbucks over across the street!
There was like, a thousand No Parking signs over on the side of the road here. Some people just have a hard time getting the message.
Regular old highway sign... for Disney World. Yawn. Just kidding, this is the point where you start bouncing all around with excitement!
Weeeeeee'reeee Heeeeerrreeee!
Time skip! This next pic is from after our Galactic Starcruise. We left Disney World to visit a few other Florida places. Over there you can see a helicopter taking off! Sky tour over Florida?!
We stopped at a random anime store, not knowing what to expect. Would it be a bunch of rare awesome things? It was kind of a rush judgement, but let's stop in.
Eh, kinda small, and only the regular high-profile shows like Naruto and Demon Slayer, but it's still neat to walk through for a few minutes.
Here's where you get those car window stickers we've recently seen a bunch of. When I travel on road trips, I usually like to take a stuffed animal along, and pose them as if they are looking out the window, so this is the sticker version of that.
My friend has some Crocs shoes, and a bunch of these little things you put all over them. It's what all the cool kids are doing these days.
Back to Disney World! Did I need another picture of the entrance? C'mon you gotta get excited to see this. Each time.
We're at The Swan! After our Galactic Starcruise, we booked several days at the Yacht Club, but there was one day in the middle where it was just going to be too much, and we stayed here for a single night.
There's a lot of carps. Are you sure we're at "The Swan"? Should they have swans all over the place instead of carps?
The restaurant had a silly modern art name, fuel. With a little "f". Ridiculous. Also, you can see some little girls in very inappropriate-looking outfits. There was some kind of cheerleader, or dancer, or ...something competition going on here this day, so all over the place it was soooo awkward to see this. Awkward for us, not them. Hundreds of girls looking like that.
Room! Does everybody take a picture of the room? Duh, of course.
Yeah here it says Swan & Dolphin. Wait, dolphins, too? All I've seen are carps. Do they know what a swan looks like? Should somebody tell them?
Here's the view out of the window! Yes, we saved money by having a bad window view. They actually charge less for this.
If it wasn't clear enough that we had a garbage view, you can literally see the garbage cans.
There's some good stuff to see out here, just not from our window. This giant fountain was cool. I think they need to re-name this hotel though.
We're at the boat dock waiting to be taken over to Epcot. Looks good from back here but I don't think I've seen a swan or dolphin yet.
Over to Epcot! Sorry those pictures from park visits will be posted later. But hey, it's a boat!
The next day we start with the sandals on. Over to the Yacht Club and straight into the pool we go! We scheduled a park-less day to unwind after our Galactic Cruise. Stay tuned for lots more Disney World pics!
