Around DC

This is a potpourri kinda bunch of pictures. Pictures that didn't really fit into another batch. Mostly like around-town things we saw.

Can you call it a "subway" is it's going over a bridge? There's a big 'ole river around this city and the subways jump over it.

More interesting pictures click on the "Read more!"

The tour bus looks like a boat because... it IS a boat! Your tour continues in the river! How crazy is THAT? And also, can I get one for myself? Imagine the short-cuts you could discover!

That's what happens when you put a street sign within sticker-ing reach.

Rainwater in a tree knothole? Great for the birds and the tree. Go nature!

Word-up my urban birds peeps. I guess I'm an urban pony?

Dangerous Drop. I think that wall should be un-climbable instead of that silly sign foreign ponies might not be able to read.

This amazing police officer opened his trunk and let a kid try on the SWAT helmet. It was an awesome moment I'm glad I got a decent picture as our Uber car sped away.

Here's a map of the main tourist area. Maybe i should have posted this earlier so you would've had a better idea of where we went?

There were lots of squirrels around an they were all happy to come right up to you for a chance at a treat.

Reflecting Pool reflecting. Nice old trees next to it, really nice and peaceful around here.

This tree stump had a deep hole in it. Is this safe?

Over there is the White House. President Trump was away that weekend. Probably golfing or firing ponies, maybe working? I can't remember.

We thought it was funny that there was tall grass outside the Department of Agriculture. Because y'know... they grow stuff.

Smithsonian Arts and Industries Building. We didn't go in, but it sure is a pretty building!

There's the statue of Mr. Smithsonian. Thanks for making all this possible!

At some point we walked past Ford's Theatre. There's some sad history happened there.

Across the street is the house where Lincoln actually passed away. Long line to get in there and we didn't really have time to wait. Is it oddly grim or nice that that moment in history is preserved?

Lunch at Cosi. They make tasty flatbread sandwiches so I gotta give them a plug for being so tasty. We had the Buffalo Blue Cheese yum.

It's the CAPITAL BUILDING. Get it? I used CAPITAL letters? Is there a law against such lame jokes? If so, the law would be passed over there!

So THIS is where Q-Bert lives?

One of the coolest things we saw was this "sculpture." it was a tree made out of metal. Super shiny and reflective, it was a sunny day so it was looking extra cool.

Is there a real tree under there? How can I get one of these?

Full moon on the sunset. We'd be driving back to New Jersey soon but we had a good time in DC.
